I want to create some mods (not ask for someone else to make them)

First off, no idea where to put this post, so I'm putting it here (seemed the most logical place). Asking for a few pointers from someone who knows how to create mods.

 

I wanted an apple gag for a photo shoot, and the one(s) I came across on here weren't what I was looking for (they're designed to work as Devious Devices gags, and are therefore the size of golf balls).

 

Since it *seems* like an easy enough mod (just an "apple helmet" (not quite, slot usage and all that, bear with me)), I decided to use this to jump into creating simple mods (I have NO programming experience, NO art skills, NO idea what I'm doing XD (might do voice acting, I've got a Blue Yeti microphone)), like retextures, or something.

 

So, I installed the Creation Kit, but I'm going to stop here for the day, because I want to play Skyrim. I want advice on how to go about creating this hopefully simple mod, like if i should be using BodySlide, what value equipment slots are under, WHERE THE APPLES ARE... (yeah I knew as soon as I couldn't find a tab like "food" or "consumables" that this might be more complicated than I thought.
