[NV] Fallout Character Overhaul and Vortex Not Getting Along

I recently reinstalled New Vegas and installed a bunch of mods via Vortex, all of which seem to work well, with no crashes or bugs.

 

Except one.

 

For whatever reason, no matter what I do, the Fallout Character Overhaul mod WILL NOT install properly. I don't get crashes, rather the dreaded Red Diamonds of Doom over my character, both in the game and in the character creator menu (I'm using the Alt Start mod as well). I've tried LOOT, manually adjusting the load order, reinstalling the mod several times, etc etc etc, but nothing works. All I have left is to try manually downloading and installing the mod separately from Vortex.

 

Am I doing something wrong?

Have you tried using another mod manager

Not yet, no. Can you manage one game with more than one manager for different mods?

not that i know of but i would recommend mod organizer

I am having a different problem with FCO, certain races are just purple/missing textures. not sure if it has to do with your problem.

also, could we get a load order for better analysis.

FCO is broken overall, best not install it at all
