D3athbySp0rk Posted December 7, 2018 Posted December 7, 2018 After adding 150~ mods to my new play through of SSE; it updated and wrecked havoc to my gamesave/mods. Found this here: Which is quite simple. you follow step 5+ of the steam link they provide and simply drag and drop the .exe to your SSE folder. I've also taken the extra precaution and set the .exe to read only (simple right click, properties, General, check: Read-only) This removes steams ability to overwrite/modify this file. (may not be a permanent solution. but solves this current update from being applied) Another work around is set SSE in steam "Only update this game when I Launch it" by going to Library, Right click SSE, Properties, Updates, the drop down under "Automatic updates" then run steam in offline mode before launching SSE Once you find it working, if you have the space. I'd recommend backing up your SSE folder. If you updated SKSE you'll might need to roll this back to skse64_2_00_10.7z For any mods that you might need to roll back, that don't have archives you can give https://web.archive.org/ a try. It takes snapshots of websites at various dates allowing you to backpedal in time, where a previous download version may've been available. Figured i'd post this seeing people throw their hands in the air with frustration, Unable to play till mod authors update. which could take awhile. hopefully some of you find this useful.
Metalsaber Posted December 7, 2018 Posted December 7, 2018 Didn't work for me. It appears this new update updates a total of 9 different files besides the Skyrim.exe file. Luckily I had a copy on my test machine. But I did need to reinstall all my mods.
Kristus Kringle Posted December 7, 2018 Posted December 7, 2018 Updates seem to be happening quickly this time, rolling back might be more trouble than updating.
