xartom Posted November 15, 2012 Posted November 15, 2012 I used better music system mod before on Win xp and had no problems but when I switched to Win 7 64 it's stopped working. I CTD whenever I start a new game with BMS loaded up but its normal without it. I've tried switching the comparability mode to Win XP sp 2 and 3 and still no luck. Any ideas? It's a nice mod, adds so much atmosphere to the blank canvas that is Oblivion. To note I'm using obse 20 with the fix and Oblivion is installed outside of program files.
tieuphieu Posted November 15, 2012 Posted November 15, 2012 you can consider that: Right click on "Oblivion.exe". Choose "Properties" -> tab "Compatibility" and choose "Run this program ... for : Win XP service pack 3" I hope this will help you !
xartom Posted November 15, 2012 Author Posted November 15, 2012 ^ Tried that didn't work. I'm thinking it might be a codecs issue or something. Removing tags, changing bitrate to OB values didn't work nor did using only vanilla Oblivion's songs.
xartom Posted November 18, 2012 Author Posted November 18, 2012 Installed Combined Community Codec Pack codecs and got it working. Yay. No clue what codec in that library was needed though. Now off to playing Sims since Oblivion works again. lol
Nepro Posted November 18, 2012 Posted November 18, 2012 I bet your software can't open that specific mp3. Might be that codec is missing. When I try to open the mp3 files from that mod with Windows Media Player I get this message http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/C00D11B1 I even tried to open mp3 files with Media Player Classic, but I also got some error message... /// Lol didn't notice your most upper post ;p
