Youwish1 Posted November 27, 2018 Posted November 27, 2018 So i've been modding skyrim for a long time, only recently came back though to mod skyrim SE. I have this weird shadow issue on my characters on the neck and torso. No idea what it is or how to get rid of it. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Molokkx Posted November 28, 2018 Posted November 28, 2018 Ok that worked. Â Did you apply Ambient Occlusion to the game? It would normally come from ENB. If that's the case, then turn it off, and see if it helps. Because Ambient Occlusion is known to create shadows-related issues specifically on characters / NPCs. It can (and pretty much always) results in ugly shadows on character bodies, sometimes creating a 'grid'-like effect, displaying polygons as if it was showing up in wireframe mode. Â Note that Ambient Occlusion does actually work and can even look good for the environment; but unfortunately it affects NPCs (and your own character) very badly. Â If it's not AO, however, then at first glance just looking at the picture I would maybe think of environment-specific lightning conditions doing this on your character? Maybe? If you want, first, check if it's caused by AO. If not, then if you can post new pictures of your character but naked instead, so we can see exactly how it shows up everywhere or if it's focused on the neck and torso only. And try to do that indoor and outdoor, too (see if the indoor / outdoor lightning conditions change the issue at all). Â Oh and also, if it's not AO from ENB doing this, then maybe check in your SkyrimPrefs.ini if you got bSAOEnable=1, if it's set to 1, then try it set to 0 instead, and see if it helps or not. Also, if you got bSAO_CS_Enable=0 (in SkyrimPrefs.ini) then make sure that one is set to 0 (it's a separate one from the non-"CS" SAO).

I'll have a look and get back to you.Â
Youwish1 Posted November 28, 2018 Author Posted November 28, 2018 It did work a little bit, but i still get weird lines on the body Same texture as you saw on the neck there.Â
Molokkx Posted November 28, 2018 Posted November 28, 2018 What worked? Â 1) Do you have ENB to start with? If so, you disabled AO there and that's what "worked a little bit"? 2) If not, you disabled SAO from SkyrimPrefs.ini? Â And, if you want, take new pictures; show us what's going on on the body itself, naked (c'mon I'm sure your character isn't that shy). It would genuinely help better pinpoint what might be going on. Take a picture of her close-up enough of her naked, front and back, indoor. And do the same, front and back but outdoor (day time if possible). Because, ultimately, if it is in fact a Texture-related issue (instead of being a shadows-related one) then I might not be able to help much, but someone else here might see it and would immediately know what it is. If it requires Texture editing, or replacement then I probably wouldn't be the first one to reply to you, but your pictures would help.
Youwish1 Posted November 29, 2018 Author Posted November 29, 2018 Its not a texture issue as i have used different ones like fair skin and pure skin 8k textures. Yes i am using enb, and no i only disabled skyrim AO. I'll use a different enb and post some screenshots tomorrow for ya! Thanks for the help my man
Molokkx Posted November 29, 2018 Posted November 29, 2018 Sure thing! And make sure you're using the latest ENB
Youwish1 Posted December 1, 2018 Author Posted December 1, 2018 So the issue is basically fixed. The enb wasnt helping and disabling skyrim AO helped a lot. Thanks molo! Appreciate the help
