faolk Posted November 12, 2018 Posted November 12, 2018 Has anyone managed to get Autolink and controllers working okay in Linux with Steam Proton? I can only get one or the other. To get Autolink working, install winetricks and do the following: WINEPREFIX=/home/YOURUSERNAME/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/311730/pfx winetricks And then install dinput8.dll. While this works, I'm not certain this is the FallingCat dll, I think it's the MS one. Putting the FallingCat one with the .exe like in Windows doesn't work and putting it in the fake drive_c system32 directory also doesn't change anything. Once I do this the controller no longer works in game, I can use the keyboard only, if I don't install dinput8.dll, the controller works fine though. Anyone have any suggestions?
faolk Posted November 15, 2018 Author Posted November 15, 2018 I got further with this. In case there are any other Linux users what I would suggest is install winetricks, after installing the game use the command in the first post to open it and select the default wineprefix. But this time instead of installing the dll, go to Run winecfg. Put the dinput8.dll file from Autolink in the DOA folder as with Windows, however it needs to be all in small case, the one I downloaded was called "DInput8.dll". In Winecfg go to Libraries and add "dinput8", I have it as "native then builtin". Autolink should work then and the controller will work a little, however my character is constantly blocking and nothing happens when some of the buttons are pressed. This seems to have been an issue with Xinput in Windows until a new driver came out. I haven't sorted it yet, adding the xinput dlls haven't helped anyway. At least the contoller works a little. I'll post again if I solve it.
