lexus Posted November 11, 2012 Posted November 11, 2012 I have a question if i wanted to change the textures of an armor from a modder do i have to ask his permission to do it?
dobmc Posted November 11, 2012 Posted November 11, 2012 No, it does not really matter. But if your releasing it into the public then you've got to give some sort of credit to the OP. Most of the mods are ripped or ported content anyways. Occasionally, there are insecure modders who won't allow you to do these but in you're case its ok. Its good to have someone ask about this, might take away some confusion. "you're case" meaning the Kagura outfit I assume.
Guest Posted November 11, 2012 Posted November 11, 2012 As long as you don't distribute the changed textures/meshes it really doesn't matter.
wurst Posted November 11, 2012 Posted November 11, 2012 As long as you don't distribute the changed textures/meshes it really doesn't matter. As long as you don't distribute saying it's your works it really doesn't matter
lexus Posted November 11, 2012 Author Posted November 11, 2012 ah okay good then i'am alowed to give my textues as long as i say that it is from an other author and not from me the mod itself i mean
dobmc Posted November 11, 2012 Posted November 11, 2012 Yea you could say "Re-texture of ____(Mod you used)____". Then in the description you could say "originally (add "ported" or "ripped" if the mod isn't made from scratch) by ___(OP name)___". Or both in the description (e.g. text files inside the mod folder). I'm sure people would get it. Just an example, I'm sure people would endorse when you share it.
