Where is my mistake?

Hi guys, first of all forgive my english.

In those days I'm trying to custom my own body,I'm a newbie in this,so I wonder if some of you guys can give me some "directions"(guides and so on,sorry cant find the right one :( )or advise for the mess that I'm doing.

I'm trying to change an armor(unpbp)for my custom body(a variant of cbbe from the bodyslide)

I've tried to modify the NiSkinPartition setting with values of my body,but doesn't works any ideas?

open up both nif's the armor and your body

 

click on your body mesh so it highlights it in Block list.

in the Block list,right click on the highlighted NiTrishape,

in the popup meny go to Block > Copy Branch (your body mesh is now in the clipboard)

 

on the Armor nif. do the same to THAT body mesh EXCEPT

choose Block > Remove Branch ( now you only have the armor and the old body

has been removed.

 

now go to the very top of the armors Block list

right click the 0 NiNode and use Block > Paste Branch

 

"some possable errors will pop up"

you may have to copy over some bone Nodes (it will tell you what bones)

your mesh may not want to copy over (make both nifs, 0 NiNode have Scene Root name)

 

your body is now in the armor, (it may fit or it may not)

if not you will have to edit the armor in a 3D editing program

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

 

or if your body and the armors body both have the same Num Triangles

try the way you tried the first time but copy and Paste the NiTriShapeDate and not the skin

--------------------------------------------------------------------

or feel free to post a link to the armor nif and your body nif

and we'll see if we can get it working for ya.

108 NiNode txt Scene Root [0]

should be at the very top of the list

 

and NOT under 89 NiNode.

 

I think you forget to do this part

now go to the very top of the armors Block list

right click the 0 NiNode and use Block > Paste Branch

Yep my error, I have copy all 0 Ninode txt SceneRoot from my body, the copy branch NiTrishape dont work and give me a error. I have tried many times but nothing, only work if a copy all.

Now I'm go sleep ^^ but tomorrow I start from the beginning.

ok I got your files, I moved all the parts over to your body

and im adjusting the parts in 3dmax so they fit your body better.

 

when I get done I'll upload it to this thread.

it will take a few days

 

looking at the bone nodes of your body mesh, you are using

the TBBP skeleton. is that correct ?

Thx, yes is TBBP Skeleton, today I'll go on with this file to make more pratic.

Ok, now I have follow your guide.After I tried to put armor on my body insted to the contrary and this the result.

I'm trying to modify one piece of armor with Maya 2013 version,so no plugin for .nif :/.Tried to export one piece in format .obj,modifing it and porting the result in Nifskope,copying the "BSLightingShaderProperty" info from the original.

The game loads the armor,but my modify remain not visible,I checked the data and this part "NiSkinInstance" is missing.

I've tried to change those "NiSkinIstsnce"values settings as the original and the piece messed up.

I finished the body and the armor adaptaion but in game I see pefectly loaded the body,but the armor is black(no lighting prob).

As u can see above the armor is"pink"and the Has Normals have no value,I tried to open it but the vector's cords remain at 0.

At least I tried to copy the original NitriShapeData of armor but that reset thier position,I know that I miss some steps for sure but I dunno which one XD.

I used Blender 2.49 and so on,but the UvMap cords are created automatically or I must recreate manually when export in nif? 3dStudio make that in auto?

Ok with 3ds Max its more easy, I follow the guide on youtube and works all perfectly.

Thx again shedidwhat, within a short time place a picture of what I could do.

Here I am again, this time I was sick and so I could not work on it.Skeleton and the body works with all the animation just fine atm.

The only problem is in 3d studio,the body and armor along with animation creates this:

I honestly do not know what it is, I have tried many times and with different bodies,but the problem is the same.The strange thing is that in game works all well,there is no any issue with the animations.

I'm interested,cause it helps me with the modeling.

yea I get that to sometimes.

 

Im not sure of the reason, sometimes the skeleton does not work with

the animations and sometimes importing it again fix's it sometimes not

ok another day another problem, today I have a problem with the clone some parts, I'll show you:

why lose definition?

I watched a video on youtube but there is no particular passage to Do to clone an object.

Where is my mistake?

Vertex normals are not aligned have you applied a smooth group?

 

I try all, first: add smooth(groups N°2) on the original armor, select Clone and copy.

second: on the clone armor add Mirror and the problem appears.

 

I have tried both with and without skin and smooth, maybe I have to save and load to a certain point in the process. :(

 

Edit: the problem appears only in the Parameters X Y Z, in the XY YZ ZX is all ok.

Ok now is work thx, but generate little more shadow, in game is even more beautiful. I still do some testing and then post the result.

Here is another problem, I created two armor and I each created its own file esp. The game loads them both, but the section where they should be is wrong.

Example:My list of craft

Iron

Steel

Leather

etc.

TERA

Various

 

Theoretically both the armor should be found under section TERA,instead it is only one the other is moved in section Various.The strangest thing the first mod I put is go in the right section (TERA).

This error does not happen with the other sections, and everything works normally.

Where is my mistake?

Right click the keywords list and pick add, type armormaterial in the filter and pick the one you want.

 

If there is already a armormaterial then right click on it and pick delete to remove it, and then add the one you want.
