HALP!! Installed Mods Not Appearing When Steam Helps Load Up Skyrim.

I've been trying to figure this one out on and off for 3 days now. I have had Skyrim and Skyrim SE both modded and working (For the most part) with most of their mods about a week ago. I was also somehow able to open and start up either of these two games without having to activate steam in the process.....Now when I attempt to get on them they both will load up just fine, buuuuuuuuut steam gets activated and both games load up without their active mods.... I've been through three days of copying, cutting and pasting over files and folders and watching youtube tutorials........The only thing I had done differently from before was download a DLL File Fixer. .....Whenever I would load up Skyrim or Skyrim SE a notification would pop up stating that I did not have "Tbb.dll" on my computer....However the games would start up anyway with the mods on them....... So my thoughts here are to maybe either locate the Tbb.dll file I had fixed and delete it again... OR to go into Nexus Mod Manager and designate the "Steam Mods" folder as the new mod destination.... although I may need to reinstall every single mod.........

1. tbb.dll is part of SSE Engine Fixes. Make sure you installed it right.

2. As you describe your issue is hard to understand how you have your Skyrim setup, or which mods are the ones with issues.

So for a start: which mods are not working? do you get an specific error message? And I assume you are starting the game through the skse loader, right?

If the mods in question are SKSE dependant you may need to wait for those mods to update to the latest SKSE release (this applies to Skyrim SE only).

NONE of my mods are loading.... they were working just fine before i downloaded that "tbb.dll" file from online to try and fix the error message..... when steam loads up either Skyrim or Skyrim SE... None of the mods are loaded up with it, but i have them installed correctly through Nexus and they were all working just fine a week ago,.......now suddenly none of them load up at all. And i've made sure I have everything updated to the appropriate versions........

Now read and anwser carefully... How do you start your game? You should use skse loader for that, but as you mention Steam so much I fear you're just using the default launcher/executable which is the wrong way to start the game when you have SKSE installed. Also you can't just download a dll from online and expect to solve your issue. I've told you that dll in question comes from a specific mod, check that you have it installed correctly.

No, I've been using SKSE64 Launcher every time to start the game... and like I said... I would start it up this way before and all the mods would work just fine over a week ago......until i decided to fix the DLL issue....i kept getting the error message "'tbb.dll not detected on your computer" ..., but the game would start up anyway and with all the mods.......So now when i start it up (Using the SKSE64 Launcher) .. it activates Steam right away on my computer and begins to start the program up with steam.....I've tried to get rid of the steam api dll file , but when i do the game gives me an error and just wont start up at all..... so it's an aggravating conundrum to deal with after having it set up perfectly before......

Skyrim always starts Steam if it's not on, and when that happens Steam starts the game. Make sure Steam is already running, then use SKSKE launcher and the game should start fine.

Wait are you using Steam for mods (the Steam workshop)? Because the only thing you need Steam for is to install the game and have it open in the background, it shouldn't need to load anything. I've never used the Steam workshop so I don't know if there are any extra steps to make these mods works. As you describe your setup was working and now it doesn't, I guess its because of a recent update (in the case of SE).

And for the 3rd time: Check. That. You. Have. "SSE Engine Fixes". Correctly. Installed. The tbb.dll its from that mod, so you may need to install it correctly and not just download the dll from a random site.
