Wrist Seams and No Makeup Overlays

Hi All,

So I'm having two-ish issues that I'm hoping someone can help me with. The first is that I'm getting terribly noticeable seams. I have tried UNP as well as CBBE both with the same result. CBBE is actually worse of a seam and more noticeable than UNP. I have also tried different skin mods (mature, valhalla, the standard one that comes with UNP at 4k) to try to fix the issue to no avail. My makeup overlays are also not as prominent and I can't even see eyeliner on my character anymore. I have spent months perfecting every mod I have and I am just at my wit's end with these two issues. If someone could please tell me how I can fix this, I would be very very appreciative.

Here are some screenshots:

Here are some screens with UNP standard tint at 4k to show my makeup overlays being barely visible and the wrist seam:

Again, any help anyone could provide would be very appreciated. Thanks!

There are 2 possibilities:

1. The textures mismatch (eg. hand texture uses mature and body uses standard)

2. The meshes mismatch (eg. unp hand mesh and cbbe body mesh)

The first one seems more likely. Do you use Mod Organizer? If so, are files being overwritten?

thanks for responding! so i use NMM (i know i know terrible mistake). i use diversity as well but that doesn't have any effect on my actual character and I never overwrite that mod. i use common clothes as well and i just discovered that there's a CBBE option but honestly I have to say that I feel UNP is such a better option and more realistic. i have been asked to overwrite hand meshes before and i said yes one time and then i re-installed and said no to overwriting. i currently have both body mods but only UNP is currently installed and active in the game. i know step one is probably switching over to MO2 (although I read on another forum that it may be wiser just to get Vortex since that will be the future). Honestly, I'm just pretty much a novice when it comes to some of these things. I can google and have fixed a majority of my issues that way with my other mods, but like I said, I'm at a loss on this one. What do you recommend I do? If you say delete everything including the game and start from scratch, I might cry lol. thanks again so much for responding. i really really appreciate it.

Luckily there's no need to delete your save game, even if you'd like to switch to MO2 (which I highly recommend). You just need to reinstall all the mods you used in your save (if you use alot of mods, this can take a while). NMM has a bad habit of keeping leftover files in your skyrim directory. Vortex ehh I dunno. MO2 just works and has everything and more vortex has. The UI isn't as clean though. I suggest you delete all mods related to CBBE or that might interfere with UNP. If you're not sure which ones you should delete, you can always post a screenshot of your installed mods. I might be able to help. Then reinstall UNP. If that doesn't work, you can always delete all files in your skyrim directory and do a clean install (Make sure you backup saves etc. first).

Ok, so this is the ironic part. I haven't even started an actual game yet. I've just been in LAL, choosing Inn patron, and testing things. That was the part I feared you were going to say was to delete everything and re-install--or can I simply just hit the 're-install' button on NMM or MO2 if it has one? I probably should just bite the bullet and transfer to MO2. There are tutorials but at this point I'm just ready to play. I've been modding or trying to get everything ready for a "perfect play through" (which I know doesn't completely exist with mods etc) for a couple of months now. Ok so now for my questions:

I've gathered that fixing the body morph issue will also fix the overlay issue. So now 1) Does directory mean my data folder? 2) I use "logical load order" template to organize my mods rather than LOOT. 3) if I delete said directory, will that erase my ENB (which I'm still figuring out how to use) and all my custom dlls I downloaded? This is becoming overwhelming shew.

Thanks so much for your help, Aranobrac. You are a god among men. If you need me to screenshot my active plugins or mods, please let me know and I can do that ASAP.

Haha no problem. It's okay. We've all been there. When I first started modding, I messed up weekly. In total I deleted and installed skyrim around 10 times. It took quite some time to get things right. I think the next step is, like you said, a screenshot of your:

1. Installed mods (NMM screenshot)

2. All files in the Skyrim Special Edition directory (steam/steamapps/common/Skyrim special edition)

3. All files in the data directory (steam/steamapps/common/Skyrim special edition/data)

Just send your screenshots to my inbox! ?
