darkangel2041 Posted September 30, 2018 Posted September 30, 2018 Hello, Is there a limit of mod that MO/or SKSE can handle ? (Not the 255 esp plugins limit) ? Now, I have about 950 lines of mod on the left panel and about 175 active esp (A lot of mod are merged with Mergeplugins – the final goal is to reduce from 650 esp to ~250). But, when I add only one mor mod (means +1 on the left panel and + 1 plug in on the right panel ), I cannot load or create a new game. When I try to load I have the same behavior that if I have overpass the 255plugin limit (With an error message on loading screen that dawnguard.esm, dragonborn.esm, etc, cannot be loaded). I am stuck, and I don’t how where to search… If anyone have any idea or experience with heavy modding skyim, it woulb be much appreciated. Thanks Have a nice day ! (I modded Skyrim twice in the past with about 250 mods. But this time, I started from a fresh install and try to create "the" skyrim I want.. which means a lot of esp... and merging plugins add an extra layer of difficutly ? ) EDIT : I made further test : Adding mod without containing esp works. But when adding mod that add esp, it fails (even if I have less than 255 esp, adding one more esp react like I overtake the 255 plugin limit.
darkangel2041 Posted November 5, 2018 Author Posted November 5, 2018 Hello, I will finaly make an update on this. After days and weeks of testing, I can just say that I touch "a limit" if I thick too much mod (on the left pane on MO). Maybe the limit is about 950 (just an estimation). Maybe I did wrong, but I didn't use the "copy general asset" from Merge plugin. In this way I can adjust "who is last" later. But doing this with more 1000 mods (lines in MO) the game seems to crash like when the 255 plug in limits is passed. So to "solve" the problem, I use the "copy genral asset" on some merged category plug in (like armors and weapons). In this way, I free some space ont this unknow limit to finish my installation. But, maybe it is not a limit... just something wrong with my configuration.
