Can i edit settings outside of the game?

Hello,

 

I've been having this problem where i can't get to the Wicked Whims settings in-game (like the option shows up but when i click on the button it just resets my sims and disappears like nothing happened). I can't seem to find a solution so I'm wondering if there is a way to edit the settings out-of-game? I just need to change some of the settings but i can't since i can't get to them. THanks in advance for any help you can/may provide!

If you go to - Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\Saves there is a wicked whims folder that stores settings and various other information. If you open the general_slot_guid.json files with notepad++ or something similar, this is where you will be able to change settings I believe. Not entirely sure as I've never tried it this way.

Thanks for the info. Is there a list or way to know what the options are? There are only numbers next to the options but i don't know what the different numbers correspond to in-game and i don't want to edit it without knowing what i'm doing.

Not that I know of besides combing through the mod in sims4studio, at which point it would probably be easier to just fix your original issue

 

Most options in the .json will just be a 1=on 0=off toggle and will be fairly obvious, options with a input field will just be the number you would input in the ui (eg. if you wanted interaction duration to be 60 seconds you would just put 60)

 

The rest of the options which have multiple choices pose a problem since you have no way of knowing and I would have to know which options you are trying to change to help any further, sorry =/
