Gabe-A Posted September 25, 2018 Posted September 25, 2018 Hi. So how would I go about moving my Steam to my games folder instead of Program Files (x86)? Do I just drag and drop to C : Games, as everyone suggests, or do I have to uninstall Steam and Skyrim, then reinstall to C : Games? What about the mods I have? Do I have to reinstall everything, or can I just tick the box per mod in MO2 a couple times and it'll find the right path? Thanks!
Guest Posted September 25, 2018 Posted September 25, 2018 Steam yes, but Skyrim can be manually moved to another location, then in Steam you have to specify the new location for Skyrim.
Gabe-A Posted September 25, 2018 Author Posted September 25, 2018 Thank you for the response. So can I just move my Skyrim folder without any problems and merely path it to the new location on Steam? Do I need to do anything to the mods, or will they automatically find Skyrim in the new location? How about in MO2, do I need to repath some of the executables there?
Guest Posted September 25, 2018 Posted September 25, 2018 Depends on how you installed the mods. Manually -> nothing to do NMM -> no clues Vortex -> Click on reinstall for each mod MO -> depends where the Mod Organizer folder was
Gabe-A Posted September 25, 2018 Author Posted September 25, 2018 Thanks again. I don't think I have a "Mod Organizer folder", I only have it as an executable. The executable itself is not in Program Files, at least. Edit: Uhh so I changed folders for just Skyrim and now my programs can't detect it anymore. I did everything through Steam too... Wrye can't find it, BOSS can't find it... MO2 can't find it. Everything is looking at the Program Files (x86) folder for it, even with fresh installs (for Wrye and BOSS). It's like I have no way to point the programs in the right direction. How do I fix this?
