Gabe-A Posted September 21, 2018 Posted September 21, 2018 When I use the SKSE launcher, it loads for a bit and then hits me with this message: "Failed to initialize renderer Your display doesn't support the selected resolution. Please set a different resolution in Skyrim's Launcher under 'Display Settings'." Launches perfectly fine with vanilla launcher though... This is a step-by-step to what I've done: 1. Deleted MO and all the mods I had previously installed. 2. Uninstalled and reinstalled Skyrim. 3. Reinstalled MO (this time MO2). 4. Booted Skyrim through vanilla launcher. 5. Installed SKSE by following this video: 6. Made SKSE into an executable in MO2. 7. Launched SKSE launher through MO2. 8. Received error message (same one). 9. Reinstalled SKSE through MO2. 10. Tried changing resolution through vanilla launcher, didn't work. Tried windowed mode, didn't work. 11. Validated game files (through Steam), didn't work. 12. Tried this: https://steamcommunity.com/app/72850/discussions/0/535150948617437868/ , didn't work. I'm SOL right now. I honestly don't know what to do anymore. It launches fine through the vanilla launcher, but for some reason SKSE, and ONLY SKSE is having issues with the resolution. I have nothing else installed (mod-wise). Any help, please? EDIT: Interesting, launching Skyrim through "Skyrim launcher" in MO2 gives the same error message. EDIT 2: The SKSE launcher works, but not through MO2. So this is apparently a MO2 problem.
Guest Posted September 21, 2018 Posted September 21, 2018 Moved to tech support. It is not clear in your post if you are trying MO or MO2. Please be clear which one causes the problem.
Gabe-A Posted September 21, 2018 Author Posted September 21, 2018 Gotcha. Fixed, and thanks. UPDATE: I forgot to post this: It's not a problem anymore. All I had to do was update my drivers and stuff. I didn't remember this before, but I realized it once I started looking into this problem, I had had to reset everything on my computer. That's probably why MO2 didn't work. Anyway, this isn't really a solution nor an answer to whether or not MO2 had any issues, but at least it's working for me now.
