bearmang Posted August 23, 2018 Posted August 23, 2018 Hey guys so I picked up the Fallout GOTY when it went on sale there, was stoked to give it a go, my first one since new vegas. Anyway, thought I would throw some mods on it like I did with Skyrim. And uh... LOL HELP I'm only using CBBE and FSM body textures for skins. I have 0 clue what happened
Guest Posted August 23, 2018 Posted August 23, 2018 Since you are using the game of the year edition you most likely also have the HD texture pack installed. This texture pack will make some skin mods incompatible with the HD texture pack because of how the game handles specular maps for the face, causing the black face bug. To be honest I recommend not installing the HD texture pack because: 1. It is not optimized and a massive waste of storage space 2. You will need to download fixes for the black face bug everytime you want to test different skin textures. In the meantime you can either uninstall the HD texture pack to fix the issue OR If you still want the HD texture pack then install this mod https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/21907
bearmang Posted August 23, 2018 Author Posted August 23, 2018 Thanks for the reply! Unfortunately, I checked if I had it installed, and it says it isn't. At least according to the steam store/dlc page. I'm curious though, when I put in the FSM skins, for face I chose the... Valkyra(sp?) option, could that cause an issue if I'm using the cbbe base?
Guest Posted August 24, 2018 Posted August 24, 2018 Nope it shouldn't cause issues. Either way try that mod that I mentioned that fixes the black face. All the FSM should be compatible with CBBE as far as I remember.
bearmang Posted August 26, 2018 Author Posted August 26, 2018 Still no change even with the mod unfortunately, im just gonna do a fresh install of the textures and see if that fixes anything. Thanks though!
