Change Email Providers

I'm sorry if this has been answered elsewhere. I'm new to these forums, and I usually only comment on mods for games I play. I did try to look for a way to search the forums, but it's not obvious to me. I'm migrating off of Gmail for all of my accounts. I settled on a service called Protonmail since many of my friends are already using the service. When I try to change my account here to point to there I get an error saying I'm not allowed to change my email to that domain? 

 

If this is intentional may I ask why? 

 

If it's not intentional can I ask to get this fixed?

The account is linked to the email.

If you wanna change the email you need to create a new account.

 

In case you wanna keep the name, then delete your previous account, then create the new one.
