Azzhat Posted August 10, 2018 Posted August 10, 2018 My game freezes after about an hour or so of gameplay. I have ENBoost, NVAC, Stuttering Remover, 4GB, the whole shabang. However NVAC keeps giving me the same report over and over:Â 10191857 ; script 'Expression Error: SYNTAX' (1C000DBD). Does anyone know what this means and what could be causing it? Secondly, are you running Windows 10?  Thirdly, if my understanding of NVAC is correct, the first 2 digits of the Syntax Error represent the Mod's position in the load order, thus that mod would be causing the issue. 1C would be the 28th Mod down in your load order (Or 29th if you're count FalloutNV.esm), which would be JoanaCompanion.esp  Not sure why that would be causing you to crash though, try doing the first thing before anything else, and if you're running Windows 10, tell me. If you aren't running Windows 10, and FNVedit doesn't shed some light on the issues, try disabling that mod.  EDIT: Downloaded the Joana Mod, opened it up into FNVEdit, --000DBD is the ID of the script named "JoanaCompanionQuestSCRIPT" I'm not an expert on scripts, but for whatever reason, this script is crashing your game.

I don't have Windows 10 myself, but from what I've heard, running NVSR with Windows 10 after the Fall update will cause your game to crash 100% of the time. There might be a work around where if go into NVSR's Ini settings and change the Hook critical sections line to 1, but if you still crash after that, your only option is to get rid of NVSR. But that's only if that rumor is true, and if the Joana mod isn't the culprit for your crashes. Try disabling that mod and playing for a while, if you don't get any crashes, you're in the clear. If not, and running FNVEdit doesn't help, then getting rid of NVSR may be your only option.  EDIT: I searched the Comment Forum for the Joana mod on the Nexus, and found this comment, they were getting a syntax error as well involving the same script, causing the game to crash. I'm not sure why this error isn't more common among other users of the mod, perhaps it's due to a conflict. Regardless, I'm pretty confident that the Joana mod is the Culprit.  Spoiler Â

Removing that and the above fix made my New Vegas work again. Hardly ever crashes even with TTW.

My apologies for the mistake. @Azzhat if disabling the Joana mod doesn't resolve the issue, follow what @SuperNixon suggested.

Just a curiosity - line 57 of that script has an effective mistake; I only opened it but didn't try it in game, however I think it's one of those errors that are not highlighted by PU and still can silently crash the script in game.
Azzhat Posted August 11, 2018 Author Posted August 11, 2018 I adjusted the NVSR to the specifications on Reddit and it appears to be working just fine. Almost 3 hours of gameplay with no freezing.
