BegrudgingCutie Posted July 31, 2024 Posted July 31, 2024 I don't know how the author of the mod did it, but I've tried to edit the text files myself and it's really not that easy. Going into the files themselves isn't bad, but actually going through the dialog options and knowing in what orders thing goes is something else entirely. The tool she linked is useful, but it only aleviate part of what makes it all so clunky. There's a tool for PoE II so I'm looking at it and may try my hand at making a lewd mod for it.

So I'm guessing they don't want to have anything to do with the mod anymore, which is kind of a shame.

Do the files even still exist in the same form or did they change the entire file structure?

There seems to be nothing wrong with the files. Just don't copy both into the Base Game. The white march files have to go into "data_expansion1" not "data". Edit: And anything that was added to the Game by the Update is obviously missing. So just don't replace the files in the "game" folder and everything should work fine. Thanks for the reply but I already had the files installed in the correct places before I asked. The issue is that with these modded files the text is empty/blank on all menus like it is missing. So, to figure it out I opened the files in notepad++ to compare side by side and the new text files have a different format. Since they have the same name the game recognizes them and tries to read them but then the format is different and it displays blank options everywhere. It seems like it would be a lot of tedium to manually correct the files, so I have not tried yet. 1

The files work fine on my end. Are you playing on the Steam version or a different version? Also, is it only the menus, or does it affect the in-game text as well?

I was playing on the steam version with the turn based update enabled. I have the game uninstalled now, so I can't reinstall to check if all text was missing.

My game is set to beta since in February that was the only way to play with turn based mode. Edit: I swapped to the non beta branch and the same things are missing, so anything related to turn based mode. These GUI elements are missing from this mod since they didn’t exist when it was made, so they aren’t included in the files.

Ah, I misunderstood which game folder you meant when you said base game, I thought the data folder outside the localization folders.
