nekochen Posted October 16, 2012 Posted October 16, 2012 I've always wanted to make Babette as a follower, but the BabetteFollower mod and XvisionChildren face mod conflicts each other. I am left with no option but go into CK and do it myself, but after hours of attempts .. all I can do is get Babette's interaction minimum with UFO follower mod, like asking for stats panel etc. I can't get her to show the option to "follow me, i need your help.". I'm guessing the problem lies in the script or QuestDialogue but I'm a complete noob in that category. Anyone know how to do this?
Queen Bee Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/4139 This one works for me, though it's slightly buggy on some characters, like quest givers. I hope it helps!
cherrygalaxy Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 Have you just tried the console commands? 1. Click on the NPC. Note their ID that came up when you clicked on them; you will need it below 2. Type into the console: AddFac 5c84d 1 SetRelationshipRank "the npc's id" 4 Player.SetRelationshipRank "the npc's id" 4
nekochen Posted October 19, 2012 Author Posted October 19, 2012 I tried to create just a random child in creation kit, but no matter what, I can give it a shop but I can't give it a follower option. The addfac and setrelationship doesnt work either. Anyone have a clue?
Guest SemiPr0 Posted October 20, 2012 Posted October 20, 2012 Easiest and most dependable way is to use the Creation Kit, load Skyrim.esm (And Dawnguard.esm if its a Dawnguard NPC). Once all loaded, click on Actors to open that category, then select Actor, then type the characters name in the search field (This may not work with some characters as they are "named" differently than their editorID so you may have to dig through the list) to get them to come up in the Actors list by themselves. Double click the entry on the list and their editing dialogue will open. Click over to the Factions tab and right click in there and add a new faction. In the search dialogue that comes up, type follower to narrow down the options. Add potentialfollowerfaction and currentfollowerfaction to their faction list. Once added, click on currentfollowerfaction and hit F2, set the numeric value for currentfollowerfaction to -1, leave potentialfollowerfaction at 0. Then click on the traits tab and set their disposition base to around 60 - 80, this will ensure they "like" you enough to follow you without any prerequisite condition. Then click the Relationships Tab, right click in the field there and click New, the dialog that comes up should have the characters name as the Parent NPC, leave that like it is, if it doesn't have their name, find their name in the list and make sure they are the parent NPC, set the Child NPC to Player, set the level to Ally, and hit OK...that will create an immediate allied relationship between the player and the newly created follower. Last of all on the traits tab you may want to choose a voice that has actual follower dialogue, this can be hit and miss and I'm pretty sure there are no child voices that have follower dialogue, but thats largely just if you want them to have the usual voiced responses a follower would have, if having them have an actual voice is no big deal, then you can just leave it at whatever it is and then go to File->Save, and create a new esp file named whatever you want. Main thing to keep in mind is that while this is the most accurate method of doing this, if you use anything like UFO or EFF, you'll need to place your plugin lower in the load order than UFO or EFF's esp for it to work. Or you can do like I do and add all your custom followers directly into UFO using the above method and you'll have 100% compatibility with whatever extended follower mod you may use.
nekochen Posted October 20, 2012 Author Posted October 20, 2012 Thanks for the idea, now I know it lies in the voice type. I kinda browse through the quest DialogueFollower and found the formlist of VoicesFollower(type). It really seems like the VoiceType is the trigger for DialgoueFollower to initiate, so all I'll have to do is find a way to add whatever voice type into the VoiceFollowerNeutral or All for it work... but I have no idea how to add stuff into a formlist.
nekochen Posted October 24, 2012 Author Posted October 24, 2012 I figured out it's the VoicesFollowerNeutral formlist, all I had to do is drag and drop FemaleChild voice to make the option "Follow Me" appear. Now another problem Babette won't follow even though she's a follower by count, she just goes off doing her default sandbox AI package. Is there something overwriting the follower script? I'm currently in the Dawnstar Sanctuary stage.
