El Diablo Posted July 22, 2018 Posted July 22, 2018 Hello. i got what i think is a pretty simple thing i am looking for but which is hard to find. Simple enough im looking for a power button for my settlements. mostly a way to open and close gates from one side without leaving it permanently open. i hope someone can point me in the right direction for constructing such.
GoldenFrieza Posted July 24, 2018 Posted July 24, 2018 Closest thing I can think of is by using logic switches with 2 doors & 2 switches. I can't recall exactly how I had it since it was many months ago and I'm not even on same save anymore due to having to restart. Had to experiment a lot to get it working as intended. First switch was in between the 2 doors. The outermost door by default remained open, the inner door by default was closed. First switch toggled the states of both doors. I had a master switch inside past both doors which toggled the states of the doors relative to the "middle switch", this made the doors be the same state rather than opposite. The idea was that in the normal state, the player had to press the switch in order to continue. In the CK it would be possible to set this up with pressure plate or tripwire. I messed around with this stuff in case I'd try making dungeons. One cool with with logic switches though it was a little confusing to set up is that by using this door system and hooking up the lights/section power through them, I could have the power in only one section at a time which could save on hardware resources by leaving everything off in the other areas.
