help creating an elin follower.

I'm trying to create an elin follower in skyrim and I'm having a few issues. I'm using the elin race mod.

 

Seems like the only way to do this was to change my elin npc's voice to one of the vanilla voices. If I set her voice to none, no follower dialogue pops up. Which is lame.

 

Also, even after setring the class to combatmystic or mage, and setting the combat style to mage, my follower cannot use magic, only that annoying default bow that always pops up.

 

Anyone have a similar porblem?

Okay, suddenly I was able to make them a caster class.. dunno why its working now, maybe i had open a new save...

 

also, it seems that a follower can only be a follower if they are given a vanilla voice type. lame.
