Wadarkhu Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 I'm looking for someone who has already heavily modded their Skyrim, 100 mods or so - how big has it become? Â Planning to start modding my fully-default Skyrim right now, and I'm wondering if my 70GB of SSD space is gonna be enough for it. I think SSD might be best utilized for exactly this - what better use for 500mb/s reading speed than a game that has to fetch ALOT of stuff. Â Gief!
Ark of Truth Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 Well it depends really if the mods add new meshes and textures, after all they are the things which take the most space. It should be more then enough though.
Rekushi Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 Skyrim Folder is about 12gb with around 140 mods running. Running smooth as babies on my laptop. You'll be fine.
SummGai Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 my skyrim folder is around 28gigs with around 180-200 mods running, and it is working fine, of course im running it on an 120gig SSD but thats sharing it with all my other steam games, so yes i would think that running skyrim on a 70gig SSD is perfectly fine
Endiness Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 My skrim's already at 70gbs, and that's without 3 months of downloaded mods waiting to be merged in.
Wadarkhu Posted October 11, 2012 Author Posted October 11, 2012 Another question - I wonder if having steam on a different HDD than your Skyrim installation causes any trouble? After all it's a pretty new feature? (Like a few months ago Steam enabled you to change inst dir?)
Siouliusn Posted October 14, 2012 Posted October 14, 2012 18.9gigs for 99 mods, but2 or3gigs can be taken out since it's psd from modified texture.
