Are detail file(--h, --hl) for outfit only?

Hi guys.

I'm making different skin tone version. (such as pale or tanned)

Thanks to DOA LR Studio, it really saved time.

However I know in this case, it is nice to deal with Texture tool and detail file(--h --hl) to spare my HDD space.

Outfits(Costume) were done and worked with this way(--h, --hl).

Costume.tmc

Costume.tmcl

Costume.001.--h/--hl (original tone)

Costume.002.--h/--hl (pale)

Costume.003.--h/--hl (tanned)

However, face didn't worked.

@Costume.face.tmc/tmcl

@Costume.face.001.--h/--hl (original tone)

@Costume.face.002.--h/--hl (pale)

@Costume.face.003.--h/--hl (tanned)

In my guess, face is coupled and accompanied to the hair one-to-one. I thought it is different to outfit case.

So, I also added hair same way, but this way also didn't.

@Costume.hair.tmc/tmcl

@Costume.hair.001.--h/--hl

@Costume.hair.002.--h/--hl

@Costume.hair.003.--h/--hl

To make different face (or hair) color version, it must be made to separate tmc/tmcl files?

Although the only different point is just one texture?

@Costume - original.face.tmc/tmcl

@Costume - pale.face.tmc/tmcl

@Costume - tanned.face.tmc/tmcl

. . .

Thanks for reading!

You can open --H file by Texture Tool JPN Custom by Mr.dotoku. And change --HL file by adjusting --H file.

However, I am not sure that Autolink and/or game.exe is compatible with the --H/--HL function other than costume(body part of TMC/TMCL).

If you want to save the storage then creating shortcuts or symbol links might help but the original file must be TMC and TMCL, not --H/--HL pairs.

Or, create and place /01 02 03 04/something.TMC & TMCL will be equal to put same pair to four different folders.

Autolink extends --H/--HL function from up to four to up to ten(you can create up to 010.--H/--HL). Not sure Falling Cat also extended this to face and hair...

Thanks for replying.

I know about symbolic link and how to use it.

But the reason why I also made --h/--hl for original color, is that if --h/--hl weren't , I can't select the original color in game even if tmc/tmcl had original color texture.

Costume.tmc

Costume.tmcl

Costume.001.--h/--hl (pale)

Costume.002.--h/--hl (tanned)

-> in this case, I cannot select original tone.

I didn't catch --h/--hl are limited to 10. I'll remember that.

Once you create --H/--HL pairs, 001 will be the first and no way to select TMC/TMCL only(Original TMC/TMCL won't act as 000.--H/--HL).

This function forces the original TMC and TMCL as base template, which means you don't have to put all necessary textures on base TMC/TMCL, especially the textures replaced by --H/--HL pairs. 001 to 004 piars won't mean you will have five variations but four variations only.

Ah, thanks for instructive answer. I've got it clearly.
