A heavy greatsword moveset for MCO / ADXP, inspired by the Great Sword of the PSP-era Monster Hunter games. The sword is so heavy that you can only walk while it's drawn, and every swing is slow and leaves you wide open. But when it lands, it hits hard and staggers the enemy.
It only plays while you have a greatsword with the keyword "WeapTypeColossalSword" drawn. Your other greatswords keep their normal moveset.

All animations are hand-made by me (KEI997). Claude Code (AI) wrote the SKSE plugin (DeadWeight.dll) and the small ground-dust script.

β Features
βββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββ
- Walk only while the sword is drawn. No running
- 5-hit attack combo
- Every hit staggers the enemy (needs For Honor in Skyrim, see below). Weapon damage is not changed. The moveset is full of openings, so I think this buff is fair.
- Custom idle and block animations.
- Custom dodges (a heavy dive and roll, 9 directions) if you use Dodge MCO-DXP.
- Custom block-hit reaction if you use Maxsu Block Overhaul.

The included KID ini adds the keyword to:
- Dragon Slayer - Berserk: the Dragon Slayer
- Ultra Greatswords: all greatswords in the mod
- Unslaad: the Dragonbone Smasher
Want it on another weapon? Write your own KID ini with a line like this:
Keyword = WeapTypeColossalSword|Weapon|0x123456~YourWeaponMod.esp

β About the stagger
βββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββ
The attacks call stagger spells from For Honor in Skyrim.esp through their annotations. With For Honor in Skyrim installed, enemies stagger on hit. Without it, they don't. Everything else still works.

β Known issues
βββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββ
- Power attacks and sprint attacks are not replaced. They use whatever moveset you already have.
- The walk-only limit applies to the player only.
-IMPORTANT - GAME VERSION
I play on Skyrim 1.6.1170.0 and built and tested this version only there. It is NOT updated for the recent 1.7.x Skyrim updates. If you are on 1.7.x and want to use it, downgrade to 1.6.1170.

I'm normally an OStim animator, active on the OStim Community Discord. Come say hi:[https://discord.gg/ostim]
(This is not an adult mod, but that's where I hang out.)
If something breaks, please attach Documents\My Games\Skyrim Special Edition\SKSE\DeadWeight.log.
1. Make sure your game is 1.6.1170 (1.7.x is not supported), and install the Requirements first.
2. Install the Dead Weight zip with your mod manager (MO2 / Vortex) and enable it. Make sure DeadWeight.esp is enabled.
3. Load a save and draw a supported greatsword. You should only be able to walk.
Β
- Wade In Water: the max movement speed hook idea behind the walk-only feature
- Ersh: Open Animation Replacer; True Directional Movement (how to read the current movement type)
- black: Berserker (the idea of placing a dust explosion in front of the character with a script)
- Dodge MCO-DXP (dodge annotation format)
- powerofthree: Keyword Item Distributor
- Dragon Slayer - Berserk / Ultra Greatswords / Unslaad: the supported weapons
- TETHER: my own earlier SKSE plugin (same speed hook pattern)
