Body In First Person

See your own body in first person

About
Body In First Person puts the camera at your eyes on the third-person camera, so when you look down you see your real body, armour and animations. It works with SexLab scenes, and the camera follows your head through animations.

This page has three downloads:

  • Body In First Person: the main mod
  • Body In Third Person - Dynamic Camera (optional): a third-person camera made to work alongside it
  • Body In First Person 3PCO Patch (optional): for people who use 3PCO instead

Supported Game Versions

  • Skyrim SE 1.5.97
  • Skyrim AE 1.6.1170 / 1.6.1179 (Steam and GOG)
  • Skyrim 1.7.x

Both mods come with a FOMOD installer for Vortex and MO2. Just pick your game version during install.

Requirements

Body In First Person - Features

  • Real body view in first person, with your face and helmet hidden and hair kept visible
  • Your body turns with the camera, and head turning is limited while sitting on furniture
  • SexLab and other animations: the camera follows your head, with smoothing and a tilt limit to keep it steady
  • A separate hide-face toggle for animations
  • Per-pose camera offsets (standing, kneeling, on back, on front), adjustable live with the arrow keys
  • Keeps your scene partner visible and stops the camera clipping into them
  • Blocks scene camera shake, such as the SexLab orgasm shake
  • Werewolf, vampire lord and creature forms, each with its own camera offsets
  • Optional head-bob smoothing while moving
  • Optional vanilla first person while a weapon or spell is drawn, for first-person combat animations and aiming
  • Custom field of view, kept when you draw weapons
  • Adjustable near-clip distance to stop the camera clipping into your body
  • Controls: F10 toggles body view, F goes to third person, and scrolling out also goes to third person

Body In Third Person - Dynamic Camera (Optional)
A third-person camera made to work with Body In First Person. It moves aside automatically while body view is on, and it also works on its own without Body In First Person.

  • Per-stance camera (sheathed, melee, ranged, sneak) with shoulder side, height and distance
  • Dynamic sway with separate left/right and forward/back amounts, plus smoothing
  • Auto shoulder swap based on movement, with an adjustable delay, or swap with a key
  • Zoom limits and a third-person-only field of view
  • Aim correction: arrows, bolts and spells land where your crosshair points
  • Crosshair offset, plus a crosshair-hiding toggle for each stance
  • Full controller support with no remapping needed
  • Everything is set in the MCM

Requirements are the same as the main mod. Don't use it together with 3PCO or SmoothCam.

Body In First Person 3PCO Patch (Optional)
For people who use 3PCO - 3rd Person Camera Overhaul instead of Body In Third Person - Dynamic Camera. It stops 3PCO from taking over the camera while body view is on, so your body and head stay lined up. Outside body view, 3PCO works as normal.

  • Requires Body In First Person and 3PCO
  • Not needed if you use Body In Third Person - Dynamic Camera

Compatibility

  • SexLab: supported, with head-following camera, partner visibility and shake blocking
  • SmoothCam: supported. Body In First Person takes the camera while body view is on and hands it back afterwards.
  • True Directional Movement: supported. It is paused while body view is on.
  • 3PCO: use the 3PCO Patch, or use Body In Third Person - Dynamic Camera instead
  • Other first-person body or camera mods (e.g. Immersive First Person View, Improved Camera): not compatible

Installation

  1. Install Body In First Person with Vortex or MO2 and choose your game version.
  2. Optional: install Body In Third Person - Dynamic Camera the same way.
  3. Optional: install the 3PCO Patch if you use 3PCO.

Uninstalling is safe at any time.

What's New in Version 10/04/26 08:21 AM

Released

Here's the changelog for 1.9:

Body In First Person 1.9

  • Added a custom field of view option, with a toggle and a slider from 60 to 120 in the MCM under Camera position.
  • Your field of view stays the same when you draw a weapon or spell and switch to vanilla first person for combat.
  • Normal third person keeps the game's own field of view, and so does turning body view off with F10.
  • New optional download: Body In Third Person - Dynamic Camera, a third-person camera made to work alongside Body In First Person.

Spoiler

v1.8.1 (update)
- Added support for Skyrim 1.5.97 (Special Edition). The installer now has a 1.5.97 option.
- 1.5.97 requires SKSE64 2.0.20 and Address Library for SKSE Plugins (Special Edition, 1.5.97).

Body In First Person - 3PCO Patch v1.0
- Initial release.
- Fixes your body turning away from the view (and seeing your own back) when walking backwards or strafing in body view with 3PCO installed.
- 3PCO's moving third-person camera still works as normal outside body view.
- Supports Skyrim 1.6.1170, GOG 1.6.1179 and 1.7.x.

v1.8

New: support for every current Skyrim version
- One plugin now works on Skyrim 1.6.1170 (Steam), 1.6.1179 (GOG), and 1.7.99 / 1.7.104 (the August 2026 update).
- New FOMOD installer for Vortex and MO2. It asks which game version you have and pre-selects it where your mod manager can detect it.

New: scene features
- Block camera shake in animations: the SexLab orgasm shake (and other camera shakes) no longer throws the view around while you're in body view during a scene. On by default. Shakes outside scenes still work.
- Camera smoothing: steadies the camera when an animation shakes or jitters your head. Slider from 0 (off) to 100 (very smooth), default 50.
- Hide face in animations: a separate face toggle used only during scenes, so you can show your face in scenes and hide it the rest of the time, or the other way round.

Fixes
- Fixed the camera sitting beside your face instead of at your eyes in some animations (whenever the animation turned your head away from your chest).
- Fixed your body disappearing when using the scroll wheel in body view. Scrolling in now does nothing in body view; scrolling out still goes back to third person.

Other
- Added a log file (Documents\My Games\Skyrim Special Edition\SKSE\BodyInFirstPerson.log) showing the detected game version and why body view was switched off, to help with bug reports.

Requirements changed
- 1.7.x: SKSE64 2.3.1+ and Address Library (All in One, 1.7.104)
- 1.6.1170 / 1.6.1179: SKSE64 2.2.6 and Address Library (All in One, Anniversary Edition)

v1.7

New: animation and scene features

  • Camera settings per pose. Standing, kneeling/sitting, lying on your back and lying on your front each have their own forward and height sliders. The mod detects the pose automatically and blends smoothly between them.
  • Adjust the camera live during scenes. The arrow keys nudge the current pose's camera forward, back, up or down, and the change is saved automatically. You can rebind the keys or turn them off in the MCM.
  • Keep camera out of partner. The camera no longer goes inside your partner's head or body. It eases back toward your own head instead. The Personal space slider sets how much room it keeps.
  • Steadier head movement in scenes. The camera takes its direction mostly from your chest and copies only part of your head's movement, so animations that roll your head back no longer throw the view at the ceiling. There are new Head follow and Max head tilt sliders.
  • Offsets scale with character size, so short and tall characters get the same view.
  • The camera follows your head when lying down or in scenes, including looking up and down.
  • F toggles body view during scenes, including SexLab animations that normally block switching to first person.

Fixes

  • Fixed partners going invisible during animations, either from fading out or from disappearing at certain view angles.
  • Fixed your own body fading out when the camera is close.
  • Fixed teeth and eye gloss showing in view with HPH and UBE bodies. All face parts except hair are now hidden.
  • Fixed walking backwards with True Directional Movement. The mod now works with TDM directly.
  • Fixed weapon draws playing twice or starting halfway. The switch to first person now happens after the draw finishes.

New MCM options (Animations page)

  • Head follow and Max head tilt
  • Standing, Kneeling, On Back and On Front forward and height sliders
  • Adjust keys on/off, plus a rebindable Forward, Back, Up and Down key
  • Keep partner visible
  • Keep camera out of partner, and Personal space

v1.6: Added SmoothCam compatibility (body view takes camera and crosshair control from SmoothCam and hands it back when you leave).

v1.5

  • Added a Transformations section to the MCM:
    • Body view in beast forms: keep the body view as a werewolf, vampire lord or other creature form, or turn it off for the vanilla transformation camera.
    • Separate camera offsets for werewolf and vampire lord forms, so your normal settings stay untouched. Other creature forms use the werewolf offsets.
  • F now switches body view on and off while transformed. The game normally blocks changing view in beast forms.
  • With beast form body view turned off, transforming while in body view switches straight to the normal over-the-shoulder camera.
