About This File
ABOUT THIS MOD
This is a compatibility mod for PALMAGIC.
It allows PrimalPals to work alongside T-Box Pal Dressing Facility All-in-One and supported official vanilla skins from the Dressing system, preventing PalMagic from immediately replacing a selected appearance with a Primal mesh.
PrimalPals remains the automatic/default appearance source. When a compatible T-Box or official vanilla appearance is selected through Dressing, the Guardian preserves it. Removing the selected appearance returns control normally to PrimalPals and PalMagic.
Version 1.3 is an event-driven UE4SS Lua module. It does not replace ModelJSON and does not redistribute models, textures, animations, or any other assets from the required mods.
THREE APPEARANCE TYPES IN THE SAME WORLD
Version 1.3 now makes it possible to keep Pals using three appearance categories in the same world:
1. A Primal appearance applied automatically by PrimalPals.
2. A custom T-Box appearance selected by the player through Dressing.
3. An official vanilla skin selected by the player through Dressing.
This means different Pals can simultaneously retain Primal, T-Box, and official vanilla appearances in the same world. Each individual Pal still uses only one appearance at a time.
REQUIRED VERSIONS
- An experimental UE4SS build compatible with Palworld
- T-Box Pal Dressing Facility All-in-One: version 0.0.648.19:
Troca de Skins da T-Box Pal Dressing Facility no Palworld Nexus - Mods e comunidade

- PalMagic - Runtime Model Replacer: version 0.2.3:
IMPORTANT
This add-on was created specifically as a compatibility mod for PALMAGIC. It is not standalone and does not replace any of the required mods listed above.
UniPalUI, SCake, and animation packs are not required by this add-on. They may still be required by other mods in your installation.
This version does not support DynamicPals.
WHAT IS NEW IN VERSION 1.3

- Allows Primal, T-Box, and official vanilla appearances to coexist in the same world.
- Protects 1,247 exact T-Box mappings.
- Supports 42 exact official vanilla class paths covering 21 skin records.

- Removing a Dressing appearance correctly returns control to PrimalPals and PalMagic.
- Displays “Guardian active.” once per complete game launch.
- Uses no continuous world scan.
- Retains no live UObject cache.
- Creates no personal Pal registry or diagnostic CSV.
- Does not modify _PalMagicPersist_*.json.
UPGRADING FROM VERSION 1.2
1. Close Palworld completely.
2. Back up the old PalMagicTBoxGuardianV12Fixed folder if you want to archive it.
3. Disable or remove PalMagicTBoxGuardianV12Fixed.
4. Do not delete _PalMagicPersist_*.json or unrelated ModelJSON files.
5. Install Version 1.3 and keep only one PalMagicTBoxGuardian enabled.
Version 1.3 does not use the legacy BirthPrimal registry from Version 1.2.
INSTALLATION
1. Install and verify every requirement separately using the versions listed above.
2. Close Palworld completely.
3. Extract the ZIP into the Palworld game root, normally:
...\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Palworld
4. Confirm the final path:
Pal\Binaries\Win64\ue4ss\Mods\PalMagicTBoxGuardianV1.3
5. Confirm that no other PalMagicTBoxGuardian module is enabled.
6. Start the game and enter a world normally.
Do not extract this add-on into Paks\~mods.
EXPECTED NOTICE
After the first real Pal mesh event in a loaded gameplay map, the game should display:
Guardian active.
The notice appears once per complete game launch. Returning to the title menu and entering a world again within the same process does not repeat it. After fully closing and reopening the game, the notice may appear once again.
The notice uses Palworld's own system and does not require UniPalUI.
HOW IT WORKS
- A native pre-hook preserves the live mesh of a compatible Dressing appearance when PalMagic attempts to apply a Primal mesh.
- An ApplyMesh post-hook clears incompatible materials and provides an exact catalog fallback when necessary.
- Only exact, audited T-Box or official vanilla catalog entries are protected.
- Removing the Dressing appearance returns control to PrimalPals and PalMagic.
- The add-on does not alter the Palworld save or PalMagic persistence.
VALIDATED BEHAVIOR
Controlled Windows/Steam tests covered:
- Switching between T-Box, supported official vanilla, and Primal appearances.
- Repeated appearance replacements.
- Base use.
- Returning to the title menu and re-entering the world.
- Fully closing and restarting the game.
- Visual persistence after restart.
- Ordinary dungeon use.
- The correct “Guardian active.” notice lifecycle.
A specific boss-arena scenario has not yet been validated.
CATALOG AND LIMITS
- The catalog contains 1,247 exact T-Box mappings.
- The official vanilla catalog contains 42 exact class paths covering 21 skin records.
- Six official vanilla records were deferred because the available exports did not expose a verifiable skeletal-mesh path. No path was guessed.
- Not every Pal, skin, animation, skeleton, save state, or gameplay context has been visually tested.
- PalMagic “Skin mismatch found” notices are outside this add-on's scope.
- Animation and skeleton compatibility are not modified. Incompatible assets may still cause a T-pose or deformation.
- Future Palworld, UE4SS, PalMagic, PrimalPals, or T-Box updates may require an add-on update.
- Xbox/Game Pass has not been validated.
UNINSTALLATION
Close Palworld completely and remove only:
Pal\Binaries\Win64\ue4ss\Mods\PalMagicTBoxGuardianV1.3
Do not delete _PalMagicPersist_*.json unless you deliberately want to reset PalMagic itself.
