Chapter 78: Louis
SIMOCRAT NEWSLETTER: OCTOBER 2009
Well, fellow Simocrats, I think we all know who's the buzz right now. We've been following the career of Rep. Louis Short (MG-7) since he was just an assistant township trustee, and we always knew he'd go places, but keynote at last month's party conference in Myshuno?
Even we couldn't have predicted that! And his speech was inspiring, to say the least.
He gave the party faithful a vision of just what this country can be, if we all work together.
And, of course, his two terms in the Capitol have shown him to always be willing to do his part.
He has a reputation as one of the hardest working legislators in either house.
And he's known back home for spending countless hours meeting with constituents.
He spends a lot of time at Willow Creek's famous park, simply introducing himself to new people, and finding out what they need.
And whatever it is, he'll do everything he can to help them get it.
But, of course, it was the recent addition of Mickey Harvey by his side that caught the most attention.
She was with him when he finally did what we all knew he would, and announced his intention to run for the open Senate seat next fall. After all, he did make the announcement at the opening of the new playground in Newcrest Park that Ms. Harvey's organization funded and planned.
Of course, they kept it classy with a simple press notice, no public appearance, when they announced their upcoming nuptials.
If Rep. Short wins, he will be one of the youngest Senators in history, as he will not turn 30 until after the primary. But as historic as this could be, he's not taking anything for granted. He's still making connections and working to build up a campaign war chest.
So we hope we can count on you to also show your support with a donation!
You never know, you're donation might just be the one that makes all the difference in the race!
