Apocalypse
Foreward
Someone finally backported shattered Skyrim to LE, so I'm able to do what I had always envisioned for the future of this series. This chapter begins a decade after Freja's escape from Whiterun, and the massacre at Stendarr's Beacon. All of Skyrim, save for a few tiny settlements I've added in is now hostile, and filled with creatures from Demonic Creatures, high-level vampires, and a few bandit camps. The normal, humanoid enemy level list has been changed to draugr, and both the Bloodlet Throne, and Castle Volkihar are overrun with high-level vampire enemies.
While I do have an overall story in mind, everything you see from here on out is what happens to Ash during my playthrough. If she dies in game, she will die in the story, and I'll pick things up as one of the other characters.
Skyrim, 4E 213
Darius Carrow's ruthless crusade against vampires lead to a small group of ancient vampires awakening the Blood Matron, Lamae Bal. What followed was the creation of an army of vampires, the like of which had not been seen since the Grey Host, and the massacre of more than a hundred Knights of Stendarr throughout Tamriel.
To combat the threat, a small order known as the Witcher's Guild was started in Bruma in 4E 205, but within three years, nearly all of Skyrim had fallen to Lamae Bal and her immortal host. Whiterun and Winterhold remain for a time, the last bastion of hope in the province of Skyrim, but without the Dragonborn to protect them, it was only a matter of time before they too would fall.
The event the people of Skyrim have since dubbed "The Apocalypse" occurred early in the year 212 of the Fourth Era, when the Blood Matron and her necromancers resurrected six fallen dragons, and set them upon the remaining mortal strongholds. Thousands died, and entire cities were destroyed in the ensuing attacks, and even Yarl Balgruuf the Fearless as he had come to be known could not defend his people against so great a power.
By the year 213, Lamae's host had taken Whiterun, slaying the Yarl and his family, and enslaving the survivors. From her seat at the Bloodlet Throne, Lamae has styled herself Queen of all vampires, and Queen of Skyrim by right of conquest. Most mortals have been made to serve as cattle for the vampires, and those who remain free have either fled to one of the three remaining Thanes, or Camp Argentum, the last bastion of the Empire in Skyrim.
