Lilith: What an honour to see you in my home, my dear! I wondered how long it would take you to come and see me, but you've been quick this time!

Lilith: My dear Belzebuth!

The creature standing in front of Lilith turns round and sees, with what is pouring out of the young woman's face, that he has come at the wrong time.

Belzebuth: I see you didn't waste any time.
Lilith: That's what I'm here for! Did you think it was going to take me weeks to get going?

Belzebuth: I've come to warn you to be careful, don't make any mistakes.

Lilith: In all the time I've been on earth, I've never made a single one! But you still have to come and give me your sanctimonious speech!

Lilith: I've been part of Satan's court since the dawn of time, just like you! Will you never trust me?

Belzebuth: You're just a human turned into a demon thanks to the generosity of our great lord Satan... I will never trust you...

Lilith: Don't you ever call me human again, you fucking insect, or you'll regret it...

Belzebuth said nothing and quietly left the scene.

Hello everyone!

In writing this story, I've drawn on existing accounts of the history of demonology. At times, I'll give you a few explanations to help you understand the story better. As there are many sources and they don't always say the same thing, I'm taking the liberty of using what interests me personally for my story 😉 Lilith herself is a character in his stories.

First of all, I'm going to explain what is known as the Great Rebellion, the starting point of everything:

In mainly biblical sources, Beelzebub is a demon and one of the crowned princes of Hell. The ancient Philistines worshipped him as ‘Baal-Zebub’. He is the Lord of the flies, or of everything that flies. He is a sub-prince, emperor of the 666 infernal legions, first in power and crime after Satan.
He follows Satan as a fallen angel following the Great Rebellion.

After more than 3,500 years of book religions - from Judaism to Christianity to Islam - what angels or devils/demons (aka "fallen angels") are - is so confusing - that in fact everyone can come up with their own explanation/representation.

Above all, this topic only occupies a very minor place in the "basic books" of the respective religions - but for example in Christian Catholicism (Roman Catholic Church) there is a separate theological "discipline" on the subject of "angels".

According to one doctrine, the archangels ("Michael" or "Raphael") are high-ranking angels... according to another doctrine, they are merely "messenger" or "war" angels - i.e. only responsible for subordinate tasks.

The universe of the "fallen" is of course correspondingly confusing... and of course also the various reasons for their fall or why they turned away from their boss.

Since you also bring Lilith into the conversation here ... her demonic origins are even older than Judaism itself ... but have undergone an interesting metamorphosis in late antique Judaism:

Zitat

In the alphabet of Ben Sira (9th to 10th century AD), Lilith is referred to as the "first Eve". After she refused to submit herself (sexually) to Adam, she flies to the Red Sea, pursued by three angels, accepting that a hundred of her children (demons) will die every day as punishment for separating from Adam. The alphabet is based on a legend from Midrash literature, which reports that after separating from Eve, Adam fathered demons with a Lilith named Piznai.

...

In Jewish feminist theology, Lilith is portrayed in the Midrash as a woman who evades not God's rule, but Adam's, and who, unlike Eve, is resistant to the devil. She positively symbolizes the learned, strong woman. In another version, Lilith, as Adam's first wife, persuaded God to reveal his holy name to her. The name gave her unlimited power. Lilith asked God for wings and flew away.

And there is the interpretation - according to which Lilith was actually the very first human - she was created by God BEFORE Adam ... but because of Adam's behavior towards her she left paradise and God felt compelled to use one of Adam's ribs to create Eve due to a "lack of material".

And then we would be exactly at the point in your story ... because "never call me a human again" leads me exactly to the last interpretation I mentioned.

---

Why are all angels and devils always portrayed as "male"?

I recommend a more modern interpretation -> "Good Omens"

here is your "Beelzebuth" (Lord of the Flies) female ... who later runs off with "Michael"

Good morning!
Thank you for all your explanations. As I said, there are so many possible variations that it would be impossible to go through them all. Of course, I take what I need for my story and in no way do I consider it to be true above the others, I take all this as "material" that enhances my story, a story that comes straight from my head and has no value other than artistic 😉

Under no circumstances do I want to provoke a debate, I'm just writing a simple story that I hope you'll enjoy 😉
