Millions (Ch. 1): Welcome to the Neighborhood
Meet Avery and Leigh Jones, a newlywed couple just starting their lives out together in Willow Creek. Avery is an aspiring businessman, and Leigh is a professional gardener. Both of them wish for wealth, but they want different things. Avery wants to be filthy rich. He's high maintenance, a little snobby, but an absolute genius, and spent his younger years running stocks and being a part of the rat race on Barrier Street in San Myshuno. After working himself to the bone for almost nothing, he decided to step back, leave the city, and try to climb the corporate ladder at a major company. The dream never changed, but the strategy did, partly due to him meeting his wife, Leigh. Leigh's the Yin to Avery's Yang. A free-spirited creative, who's super social, super cheerful and loves being outside in her garden, Leigh has always wanted to own her ultimate mansion. The money was never really important, but its how she'll get her dream house, filled with beautiful artwork, a large backyard for pets and her massive garden, of course.
After settling in on moving day, a few of the neighbors came by to introduce themselves.
As per usual, Leigh was being her bubbly, social self, becoming fast friends with everybody on the block. She's a real socialite, and has always had a knack for making friends and connections.
While not anywhere near as social or exciting as his wife, Avery is a retired frat boy, and he always knows how to have a good time around other bros.
The Jones found themselves really taking a liking to Armant and Romina, an engaged couple from next door. They seemed really nice, and there was a certain energy around them... While Avery and Leigh didn't know for sure, they got the impression that Armant and Romina lived the same lifestyle that they did.
You see, one of the reasons that Avery and Leigh worked so well together was because they never had any issues inviting anybody into their relationship. They were both allowed to seek other partners (with proper reason and boundaries), and they both enjoyed sharing. They missed the poly/party scene in San Myshuno, and they were eager to get back into the life.
But at the same time, none of this is to say that they weren't enough for each other, or that they didn't keep each other satisfied...
After a few days of settling into their jobs and new routines, Leigh asked Avery if they were interested in having their neighbors over for dinner. She finally had an off day, and was meeting up with Romina to go get some coffee and chat. Naturally, Avery was all for it. Armant was a bro, and it would be nice having some friends around here.
That afternoon, Leigh and Romina met up and hung out for a bit. Being her super social and charming self, Leigh and Romina became best friends while complaining and joking about how they needed to get their partners out of the house more.
Romina was delighted by the offer to come over for dinner that evening, and she said that Armant would be very excited too. She expressed that the Jones had a "similar vibe" to her and her fiancee, and that she thought they'd have a lot of fun together.
Later that evening, after Avery got back from the office, everybody came over for dinner.
Dinner was nice, the conversation was flowing, and everybody was having an awesome time. There was a special energy in the air...
Avery learned that Romina was a scientist down at the local research facility, and he was super interested in learning more about her work, so they went over to his office so she could show him the latest project she's been working on...
...While Armant, upon learning Leigh was a professional gardener, wanted some tips on how to grow the perfect cannabis plants when the seasons changed (one of Leigh's specialties).
At this point, one thing led to another, and the party really began. Apparently, Avery and Leigh had found themselves amongst some like-minded "Friends."
Now that everybody was a bit more comfy and acquainted with each other, they all relocated to the bedroom...
"Haha, welcome to the neighborhood, bro. It seems like we're all going to be seeing a lot of each other" Armant laughed as everybody settled down.
