Don't worry about it. Asking is how you learn. If I understand you correctly, when you attempt to wear a different pair of boots or shoes, the red ninja stockings disappear. This is not an issue with my mod, The stockings only use slot 38. The issue is some other mods and vanilla boots sometimes use slot 38 AND 37. The boots are overriding the stockings. Its a simple thing to fix, and I can walk you through changing the mods of the shoes you want to use. No CK needed. Do you have TES5Edit? I had to dig through my old hard drive for that. There are no actual stockings on that. the part you see is all that exist. The stocking tops and the boots are slotted to the feet. Seems like SL removes the boots so the stocking tops go with it. I have never used SL and know nothing about it.
