Fuck that shit you posted above.. :@

"To clarify, if there is an optional feature in which a character could engage in incestual or non-consensual activities, then the player would still have a chance to view and interact with content that is considered to be a violation of the guidelines.

If this feature were to be removed from your game so that there is no mention/depiction of incestual or non-consensual activities, then it would fall within our guidelines. This extends to all content on your creator page, direct links that lead to this type of content, and other platforms showcasing work funded through your Patreon. "

First they tell creators to remove all content from public view now they force creators to also remove their content from games. Either creators will now bend and obay patreon or they boycut it and looks for something else. either way this will turn ugly one way or the other.

I wonder if we allow Patreon to take an inch then will that embolden them to take a mile. No matter what happens, creators must find a way to make their content available for their supporters to download.

Maybe it is about time to start using Bitcoin as a payment method?

Edit: Unfortunately, it is not possible to use Bitcoin as a recurring payment method because the user must manually perform a transaction every time. I think that is correct? Bitcoin may best serve a purpose as a tip jar, but it probably won't be able to replace a payment processor.

it's time for competitor to show up

I guess there may be a competitor called : Hatreon

But adult creators are going to have to share the site with the alt-right at Hatreon. (Just stating a fact).

Edit: Don't use Hatreon - they will steal your intellectual property.

If there has been any creator making actual "illegal" content they should deal with it as an specific event and not dump their wussyness on everyone.

Is beyond fucking pathetic how they want to preach about what they consider to be OK and what not, I really hope they get some lawsuits for what they're doing and their sites gets DDOSed for years.

I'm not sure you actually understand the legal issue here... There were a bunch of sfm/porn/game creators making updates on their public feeds that included softcore and hardcore images, video and downloads. Additionally there were publicly available discussions and text content on subjects like incest and rape that could easily be interpreted as promoting those activities.

The law treats Patreon, the company, as the responsible party here; not the individual creators. Patreon are the ones acting as the distributor of these materials... So what does Patreon do? They make an effort to clean up the public-facing site. They tell the developers in question that what they publish behind 'closed doors', namely the age-gating and privacy of paid patronage (which is the primary legally recognised method of age verification), is up to them so long as they maintain a clean public feed. i.e. Keep it off the public feeds or they're literally putting every other creator at risk.

For the most part this seems to have gone well. Creators were obviously a bit put out by the apparent suddenness of the policy change (even though it really wasn't that sudden), and Patreon has worked openly with those adult-niche creators to help bring their content feeds into compliance... In fact the only creators still having some difficulty seem to be the ones who responded by beating the free-speech drums and trying to turn this into a social ethics debate... Which it isn't... You also clearly think it is, but you're wrong.

The principal here is really simple. Just like you can have whatever kinky sex you like in the privacy of your own home, the law won't let you do it on the front lawn in full view of the neighbourhood kids... So Patreon creators have been enjoying an orgy on Patreon's front lawn for a while, the proverbial cops came and issued them a warning, and Patreon just told everyone to get the fuck back inside.

They did not tell them to stop having the orgy.

[edit]

And anyone who thinks a viable alternative to Patreon for sexual kink creators is sharing their earnings with a website started by a bunch of bigoted, white nationalist, christian fundamentalist misanthropes who got butthurt when they learned that free speech isn't the same thing as consequence-free speech, is deluding themselves in the most self-destructive way imaginable.

I'm glad your last statement doesn't apply to me.

Edit: Now, no matter what alternative platform anyone should decide to use, they should always read the terms and conditions before signing up.

It's not really directed at anyone, it's just a blanket declaration that in this community, of all communities, I can't imagine anyone in their right mind entertaining the idea of giving money to those people... They are the actual bigoted moralists trying to shut us down.

This 100%. Its outside forces making Patreon have to enact these changes. In the long run it will be good for the site.

Do you really think they'll just toss out adult creators like that? Have you seen the stats? They'll have their profits slashed by almost half if they did that.

On a different note Hatreon is not an option for creators tho, once someone put something in their site automatically turns into Hatreon property making the authors renounce any rights they have over their creations, and Hatreon can modify and sell what artists create without giving them a penny for it

May be worth pointing out that the relevant Hatreon terms an conditions are as follows: "By posting content to Hatreon you grant us a royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, non-exclusive, sublicensable, worldwide license to use, reproduce, distribute, perform, publicly display or prepare derivative works of your content. The purpose of this license is to allow us to operate Hatreon, promote Hatreon and promote your content on Hatreon. We are not trying to steal your content or use it in an exploitative way."

https://hatreon.net/legal/

And for comparison here are the Patreon ones: "By posting content to Patreon you grant us a royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, non-exclusive, sublicensable, worldwide license to use, reproduce, distribute, perform, publicly display or prepare derivative works of your content. The purpose of this license is to allow us to operate Patreon, promote Patreon and promote your content on Patreon. We are not trying to steal your content or use it in an exploitative way."

This is not legal advice but you may want to think carefully about using either service.

Actually patreon did, they even mentioned to remove certain things from their games even behind the paywal/ getting back inside like you mentioned.

There is a game that has a brother who is now changed to be a tenant and the mother is now the landlady the sisters changed to something else but some are making patches to change the names back to the way they were before the change but they are being posted elsewhere away from their patreon page there are also people that are making mods to alter and change things like peoples names and what relation they are to each other even removing some content like NTR from happening in a game.

Many games are going to become a boring bland potato because everyone will have to do the same thing and there will be no variety nothing interesting many authors will fall because of it as there are authors that have changed their content that are losing their followers on a daily bases and with each lost person they get closer and closer to losing all money they are making and will be forced to close their page. Patreon is going to end up losing a shit ton of their revenue because half or more of their revenue is coming from these adult game creators.

Eventually there will be a new competitor that will rise up and challenge them because you know it will happen just like it has happened with other sites. Example mediafail (mediafire) got dumped by many when they went full on retard handing out strikes like they were handing out candy and many went with sites like mega.nz.
