Weird female character butt texture issues

Recommended Posts

So I've been tinkering with textures and bodyslides and I'm finally happy with what I have after two weeks or so of trials. Except one weird thing. The buttcrack on my female is oddly prominent to the point where it just bothers me greatly after putting so much time into tweaking skin textures. It just looks bad. Any idea what the issue could be?

Here's my examples. I'll put it under spoilers.

How it looks standing. This is fine.

How it looks after my character bends over (kind of atrocious and distracting)

It's so meaningless in the grand scheme of things, and I guess I can ignore it, but the issue can just make the ass look really bad when using certain positions.

Here's my load order

This is just for my hero by the way.

I'm using Diamonized UNP Base Body with Demoniac Texture. Using body slide to customize further.

I've taken pride in not having to ask for help with the most severe technical issues with my game, but this one has me stumped.

Depending on what you say and what the images look like, this looks to me, as it might be a problem with a wrong or completely missing *femalebody_msn.dds" texture.

Try and check if your texture folders are overridden by some other mod, or maybe you placed it into the wrong folder.

Not sure why, but my images aren't showing up any longer. However in this thread someone had the same issue

It doesn't leave me with much hope. I switched back to CBBE, but I just prefer uunp if I can help it.

I did a search for femalebody_msn.dds and only found one instance of it in a "khajitfemale"  folder along with femalehands and its corresponding files.

EDIT: So I've done more troubleshooting. I completely reinstalled my body meshes and skin textures one by one.

After installing the base UNPB Body: No weird ass ridge

After installing Fair Skin Complexion: No weird ass ridge

After installing BodySlide/Otutfitter: No weird ass ridge

After building a UNP HDT Body + Slightly customized preset: The mighty asscrack ridge appears

At least I've isolated it. Just not sure what to do. Everything was fine until I built my custom body which I barely made any changes to.

Your images are hosted on "imgur". Out of some reason the link cuts away the first line with "www.imgur...."

By right clicking selecting "copy-adress" and pasting it into a new window your pics are still loading.

But back to your problem:

Are you a bit familiar with nifskope?

Try to compare your customized body with a common one.

Especially the complete part with "BSLightingShaderProperty"

There, your shaders are defined and the texture paths are set.

You could use nifskope to delete the whole branch and copy and paste the branch from a working body to your custom shape.

Cause is a bad skinweight. You can fix it in a 3D program (3Ds, Blender etc.) or in Outfitstudio.

Is it as simple as running textblend after building the body in BodySlide?

edit: Given how poorly that went for me, I'll take that as a no.  I'm a complete novice at this so is there a place where I can learn how to use those tools to fix this?

Skinweigt is, in simple terms, how much effect has which bone on the individual vertices.

As a rule, only 4 bones can influence.

This is the rule - but Skyrim also allows more - max 8 (my experience)

But then it must be good - it is not good, there are black spots on the skin - etc.

In your case - it's just bad (CHSBHC-Skin).

I guess you use UNP or kind-relative.

If you have no idea of 3ds etc. - then a simple method in Outfitstudio:

Open BodySlide-> Open OutfitStudio

Open your body with "Load Reference".

3 tabs are available - Right - Up.

Meshes, bones and lights.

Click Bones.

Now in the list are all bones.

Find NPC L Butt.

Scale NPC L Butt 100% - Surprise.

It's a disaster - right.

Use the Brush from Outfitstudio to fix this scrap.

The same for right ass, etc.

And for more - there are numerous tutorials for OS.

It should be enough as a way to solution ...
