Sims 3 or Sims 4?

Hey Guys! I have a quick question regarding opinions on the Sims. If I am interested in the erotic content, should I look more at Sims 3 or Sims 4?

 

I am assuming that the general idea will be, Sims 3 has more content (been out longer), but Sims 4 will look nicer.

 

I have not played Sims 4, but I do own Sims 3 and several of the expansions for it. So if they are close enough I would just assume fiddle with Sims 3. What do you all think?

TS3

 

Animations: MUCH more than TS4, almost an unbeliavable number (like 700 animations in total). Overall VERY high quality (Amra72 and L666 mainly).

Playability: lot of lag that often de-synk animations, veeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeery long loading times.

Animators: currently, AFAIK no one is working on it. Plus, some contents are impossible to get (S17, 18 and 19 of L666's expansions).

 

TS4

 

Animations: very high and respectable number, like almost 500 (plus many animations are only in TS4, and not in TS3 - for example, currently double handjob on bed by lupobianco), overall quality: good to high.

Playability: no lag and almost no loading times. A paradise, compared to TS3, and the only reason I prefer TS4 over 3.

Animators: currently, LOTS AND LOTS of people are working on it and are improving steadily. You can 80% get a new update per week. My personal favourite is Omaster.

You also need to note that at their current states, KW has a lot more contents and functions than WickedWhim. TS3's extensive EPs also give it more to work with (High School situation, Pets,  etc...)

 

If you're interested in erotic content and can endure some lag, TS3 is the one to go. In the future TS4 may be able to take the lead, but it's not there yet. The growing number of animations matters little to me at this point where the framework is still in a very early stage. It simply doesn't got that much "life" in it yet.

 

Edit: Still, based on the Unreleased changes of Wicked Whim, it has a very solid base to go on at the moment. Nothing very exciting yet, but it's promising.

I have no problem running sims 3. yes does have long load times. but sex system is by far better at current time.

sims 3 kinky world has many features aside from just running animations. it has autonomy. it has surprise. it has shock.

i find it more fun at times just to watch the game than to play it, cause it's just hilarious the things that happen on their own.

he's working hard and doing great. but if im to be truly honest, Kinky world for Sims 3 is the current champ, cause there is so much more to that than what i even mentioned so far. Thats just my opinion. if your just into it for the animations and would enjoy seeing your sims strip their clothes at random, The sims 4 should be good enough at the current time. i'm sure it will get better eventually. but if you want more the feel of a simified adult game, go with sims 3 if your system runs it well enough.

 

better yet, since your already on sims3, give kinky world a try. if its not enough for you to want to stay with sims 3 then you can always buy sims 4.

 

i may biased. i am far from a fan of sims 4 honestly. it gets boring fast. it was designed to be a well optimized online game, causing them to leave out many many features. and at the last minute they decide to keep it single player. if it had multiplayer as designed i might be more forgiving for making me give up so much of what the sims 3 had to offer. but it doesnt. its a pretty game, but leaves too much to be desired. sims 4 would have been an awesome game if it came out after sims 2. it would have been the perfect upgrade. but being that it came after sims 3, it is definitely not the perfect upgrade, more like a perfect downgrade.

 

Sims 3 gets my vote whether gameplaywise or sexified. I have confidence that Turbodriver and wicked whims will someday change my feelings toward the sims 4 in its entirety for the better. until then i'm just a pissed off sims 3 lover who angrily plays sims 4. lol

I also wanted to add that if you're using TS as some personalized porn as I do, the fact that TS4 loads WAY faster and doesn't lag, well, it's simply awesome.

I don't really care for KW's add ons or fetishes (zoophilia). I don't care about rape and I don't care about prostitution.

I just want custom porn and fantasies, and I don't way to spend the day loading TS3 (10+ minutes, which feel like an eternity everytime), and dealing with bullshit freezes and lags. I swear I tried EVERYTHING to mitigate this issue, and I have a very powerful pc, but TS3 still is slow and plagued with lag.

WW has a menù easier to navigate and more complete, in my opinion (footjob and climax menùs).

 

To me, the issue is more about animations: TS3 has better looking ones, also because it has tongue and bouncing breasts, not to mention more realistic Sims (albeit, the TS4 ones look more lively imho).

You'll find that many animations for TS3 are very detailed, almost shocking about how they look, while TS4 are more modest and vanilla. They still get the job done, don't get me wrong (expecially, as I said, Omaster, Mike24 and Amra72), still that's a point.

 

Still, in TS4, there are also many more fantasies, courtesy of Omaster (really really love the Pajama Party series), Mike24's recent 3P for sofa and also lupobianco's 3P or femdom works, to quote some examples.

Sure, TS3 has some of these (BDSM stuff like rough doggy, thanks to L666), but TS4 is, for me, taking the lead in this area.

Also, as I said, for a custom porn, I prefer launching TS4, which is almost immediate in speed, rather than dealing with TS3's problems, unless I have a lot of time, patience and no one's at home.

I prefer Sims 3 over 4 mainly because I hate the way sims 4 looks. Sims in 4 look like clay and chunky. After putting Kurasoberina's skins into my game, I just can't see myself playing without them! 

I'm using a cheapo, under $500 bucks, laptop and have little lag. But I also use Nraas Story Progression and by editing that and controlling the population with Register (which is where most of my lagging came from), my game works well and the animations plays back perfectly.  I love KW and play it regularly with no problems.  

If you are willing to tweak your game before you play, you could have decent gameplay with the animations. I prefer the way the animations look and if you are into more realistic animations, sims 3 is the way to go.

Although I find the camera a bit annoying in the Sims 4, and posing is a nightmare.

I would usually load up the game and click on my world and then just leave for a while and do something else, and by the time I got back it was loaded up, but still super laggy. I'm so happy I've moved onto the Sims 4 it's so much faster.

I play both TS3 and TS4 a fair amount. My summary would be:

If I want to play the Sims to have sex that blends perfectly within the game's meta(?), I go with Sims 4; WickedWhims is designed so well that it feels like it's part of the game itself. 

If I feel like playing my nymphomaniac "dollhouse" paradise island, I play Sims 3; in that game, it's nothing but Kinky World dictating the rules.

Did you like the camera in the Sims 3? There is an option in the camera settings that enables you to revert back to the Sims 3 camera style for the Sims 4. It's SO much better in literally every way possible.

So, I wanted to say, after using TS3 after a long time... I confirm my thoughs on the lag and loading times being absolutely disgusting. 

I have no idea why sometimes the game's speed is bearable, and other times is awful.

However... the animations are top quality in TS3, even better than I remember.

TS4 feels much more limited than TS3. Everything in TS4 feels extremely dumbed down. Modders are making great strides, though.

 

If I could have all the content from TS3 with the load times and ease of use as TS4, it'd be heaven.

The latest release of Oniki, sure it's not yet available to the non patreons, but what I ment with new content are all the new non default interactions Oniki made possible.

Don't like the look of Sims 4 and don't have any real problem with sims 3 loading times and let's say some selective ones with lag. Loading with about 6 GB cc is about 1 minute on a good machine about 1 1/2 years old and i think save cleaner really helps. About the lag issue it seems connected to the towns. Absoletly no problems in Twinbrook but it's getting really bad in appaloosa plains. A smaller lot (<60x60) also seems to help.

Can you suggest me some ways to reduce lag? I can't change town anymore, sadly. I'm using Isla Paradiso :/

Also, I already compressed most of my packages to around 50 files of 589 MB. I use a lot of families, however.

If you want to try another town you can move using a notebook or save your household and start a new game.

someone did routing fixes for alot of the worlds. i think it was at modthesims. I love to use Sunlit tides... just love the atmosphere. and i pimp my girls out at the little grocery store near the center of town lol. that world was a routing nightmare, but i was lucky enough that sunlit tides was one of the worlds they did the fixes for. i think if you google routing fix sims 3 you can find them. i dont know how sunlit tides compares to other worlds speed / lagwise. i mainly did the post about the fixes.

I know but I don't care about the world, the less laggy the better, that's it anyway, Porting worked way better than I expected. Now the only problem I have is an annoying pop up, saying that there is no owner of the house or something and nraas added it, but it's a problem related to nraas, and once I figured it out, TS3 will be MUCH better.

Yeah, it's definitely possible to escape the sea of lag.
