Game crashes on save/load/enteringnewcells/fasttraveling all of a sudden.

My game worked fine for weeks, and I was able to play normally. The game will CTD whenever I do any of the things listed in the title. I also get the occasional random CTDs. I have noticed that these issues tend to happen more around Whiterun, but they are far from exclusive to that location. 

 

Another "funny" thing that I noticed is that when I start the game, I cannot load into any of these bad saves from the main menu without a CTD. I can load an earlier healthy save or start a new game, and THEN load into the "bad" saves. But then my original problems occur.

 

This has happened twice with this particular install. My fix for the first time was to reload an older save and lose a lot of progress in the game. But after playing for about how long I lost (about level 16), the problems return.

 

I have tried to increase the memory by way of SSME, and when that failed I used the SKSE method. Cleaning my savegame also fails because when I type "save mysave 1" into the console and press enter I get a CTD instantly. My save games are all around 11MB anyway, so I doubt that that's the problem.

 

My question for anyone who can help me is this: Is there anyway that I can "salvage" this install or should I just try to start from scratch? Also, how could I avoid having this issue in the future if reinstalling is the only solution?

Plus that's one messy load order!

 

Have you checked for missing extra requirements?

Just passing, (because busy), but have you looked at the 'string' size of your save? (There is a thing about that sort of thing around here somewhere). (If using CrashFixes, ignore this - sorry to waste your time).

1. No, and I know that I 100% should be using it. I don't know why, but I just never got around to downloading it.

By "missing requirements" I mean for instance sexlab requires a few mods to get it to work properly, have you checked all your mods for this and that they are the latest versions?

 

For an easier to read load order you should keep similar mods together ie group all SOS esp together or all devious esm's together etc.

To his credit, when installing the labs, I got side swiped by RaceMod, XPMSE etc. being required for some things to work that weren't mentioned in the master tutorial. Then again, are they required for FNIS to work?

 

And I'm getting the same thing and an also doing a full reinstall.

Well, I didn't "delete" my old install, I just moved it out of my steam library. I still have it. That's my bad.

 

And I'm pretty sure that I have all of the requirements. And the mods are up to date as well. I think that it's just a case of the save getting corrupted from a series of bad or conflicting scripts somewhere. In my new install I've cut out a lot of the script heavy mods in an attempt to avoid this situation again, or at least delay it.

 

Thanks for the tip on the load order! I'm still in the process of setting up my new install, so I'll keep that in mind.
