I don't understand I see stuff on the nexus that have assets from other games and the people who uploaded don't get banned.

What do I have to do to be able to upload this type of work and not get banned

It's just the way Nexus operates. Even if you were given 100% permission to do whatever you want with it, they'll still ban you because it wasn't made from scratch.

Some of the mods that showcase items, areas, or people from other games were at some point made from scratch, either for morrowind, oblivion, or skyrim. Then, if given permission from the original creator, or if they are the original creator, they can then remake it and upload it, but they have to give 100% credit to the original creator.

I'd just be very careful when it comes to Nexus. The moderators can ban you for anything and everything, even if it doesn't pertain to mods. I've seen people get banned just for talking about Nexus in a negative tone on another forum or website. That's why I refrain from even talking to anyone on the Nexus.

Don't take it personal, they're just enforcing the rules that they set up.

Not entirely true. People have been given permission from CD Projekt Red to port Witcher 3 outfits to Skyrim under the condition they don't use it for any form of monetizing. A written consent has been taken a screenshot and posted on the description as valid proof not just for the staff but for anyone who feels like playing internet police. So it's not entirely true.

To me, why Nexus banned you was not providing any evidence of your statement. Anyone can say they got permission to use those assets from another game and upload it. Why would Nexus take the risk? It's your word against theirs. And Nexus would rather avoid any complications, so instead ban you.

Do I think the ban was right? That depends the measure of the situation. I think they could of reacted in a better way than just insta-ban. They could of hid the file and place it under moderation until you provide evidence of your statement. And failing to do so could result in a ban. Regardless of how it's handled Nexus is a strict site and take the littlest things into account as offensive. And I don't like them for that.

I may not agree with all the decisions they make, but it is their site and their rules.

If they didn't believe his word then they should take the file down, not ban his account. Each and every day the Nexus makes dumber and dumber decisions, it really is astounding.

I've gotten into the habit of checking recent files every day now and downliading stuff just in case I want it because I know that half of it will be deleted tomorrow.

Sad.

Anyway, good job on the house, it's a shame that work like this is punished.

I gather that someone out there is flagging mods that even remotely look like an IP violation, even if the source material clearly states that you're permitted to use the mod for anything but for monetization.

Still, your mod is featured on Dragonporn... although user comments aren't saying anything positive.

The thing is, these assets were originally ripped from 3D Custom Girl, according to that DA page. This guy has permission to convert the assets to MMD, apparently, since the developers themselves made the tool for doing so, but would you then need permission from the developers to convert the files a second time over to Skyrim?

I read the translated Dragonporn comments, and most of them seem to sound very harsh. Quoting DP (shitty translation):

Alteration and non-distribution of materials using in the comments section of the post.

The Report into the nexus in any, please do.

* Removed MOD category.

I have reason to suspect that some Japanese guy reported the mod twice, although I can't find any sort of a EULA for 3DCG.

I don't understand why people don't like the idea of adding stuff from other games to skyrim

All of this is just for fun

If you do something for fun you should be allowed to add or edit anything you want as long as you give credit were credit is do.
