Oraclesoldier Posted July 5, 2014 Posted July 5, 2014 I must apologize in advance and warn you that this load order in the spoiler contains at least 257 mods, they are not all active so my crashing is not the issue at hand, just a forewarning. I will eventually and really soon remove a lot of these mods anyway to reduce my risk of these types of problems in the future... The business is going to be given in an example... 1. I start a new game or loaded game. 2. Any but NOT all NPCS AFFECTED by Everybody's Different (Hair change) get a dark head bug!! 3. My problem is independently solved by "setnpcweight 70" This means that one of my mods is causing the npc weight to shift to something different, their bodies do shrink after a while and it ONLY happens to npcs affected by Everybody's Different, but not all of them. Some of the affected npcs never change, at least not the ones I don't interact with mostly. I asked the author of Everybody's Different and the answer was "No no, I took out the change weight feature a long time ago because of problems like that." Any ideas where I can start solving this bad problem? I'll try stuff meanwhile. myuhinny Posted July 6, 2014 Posted July 6, 2014 The closer you get to the 255 mod limit the higher the your probability of getting glitches/bugs/CTD's/and other things. There is LOOT to run for load order and TES5Edit that can also see if you are missing anything and also helps with load order. Also the more mods you add the higher the chance of hitting something that conflicts with another mod in the load order. The more script using mods you have the higher the probability of having problems as too many scripts can fire off at the same time bounce off of each other conflict with each other and cause CTD's among other things. A word of advice if you are going to start shutting mods off it is best to scrap the game you are playing and to start over with a new game. As even though you turn a mod off things can still be in your save file that will keep affecting your game even after those mods have been turned off. (Like scripts) So it is better to turn the mods off that you want off and then start a new game. Mods that are turned off can still be ghosted even though they are turned off and it is best to remove those .esps from your game folder so that they can't be ghosted.

May I ask, would your game become more unstable no matter what mods you used to get to that 255 esp mark? For example, what if I for some reason had 250 clothing mods and only 5 mods using scripts, would I still have to expect problems? I ask because I want to know what I should focus on other than lowering my scripted mods.
D_ManXX2 Posted July 7, 2014 Posted July 7, 2014 Depends on your pc and how much memory is available. if your playing skyrim on 4gig of memory then yes that is considered to low memory to be able to have so many mods installed. Also it depends on the quality of clothing if they use highress textures then that will drain your skyrim from memory available.

Okay thanks, I have 8 GB installed RAM but I'll still be very careful with how much of everything I have. My main issue being that I need less scripted mods... Tons of sexlab mods + Realistic Needs / Frostfall / Everybody's Different / Sands of Time most likely isn't helping at all.
myuhinny Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 Yeah sexlab mods tend to be really script heavy depending on which ones you are using. I haven't tried it for skyrim yet but for oblivion I no longer install clothing/armor mods I just add their mesh and texture folders to my oblivion folder and then use the creation set and add them to the .esp I made which helps with keeping the my .esp list down. Skyrim uses the creation kit.
Oraclesoldier Posted August 9, 2014 Author Posted August 9, 2014 Here I am again back at my old complaint thread after FINALLY deciding to test this mod with practically everything disabled. Current Mod List (Very Tiny) on a NEWLY MADE save game right after starting. Skyrim.esm Update.esm Unofficial Skyrim Patch.esp Dawnguard.esm Unofficial Dawnguard Patch.esp HearthFires.esm Unofficial HearthFire Patch.esp Dragonborn.esm Unofficial Dragonborn Patch.esp ApachiiHair.esm <- Hair SGHairPackBase.esm <- Hair zzLSAR.esp <- Mod that uses scripts to change the appearance of clothing. SGHairPackAIO.esp <- Hair Alternative Start - Live Another Life.esp <- Start without Helgen Intro (popular for working well) EveryBody's Different.esp What could cause people affected by Everybody's Different hair customization to change their weight? (The weight is change is causing the discolor).
D_ManXX2 Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 Are you using the body texture pack add-on from EBD ?? And what settings did you use when you created the skyproc patch for EBD ??? From what i remembered you need enable the scripts from the first selection screen from skyproc patch. and enable the spell to have EBD work right. if the hair is causing the color discoloration then you did not enable the important part of EBD.
jdods13 Posted January 7, 2015 Posted January 7, 2015 II have this issue also... it seems to be the weight change that causes the head discoloration.
