Guest Jenova23 Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 I disabled practically all my mods saved and reloaded to see if there where any conflicts but Aela always shows up invisible in werewolf form I also tried changing the race through console commands but that didn't do I need a mod to enable follower werewolf transformations or is there something I need to edit in creation kit? Note: Female werewolf transformations work for the player just not female npc. Ramrod Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 This is so weird, I have the same bug but the opposite. Aela is visible, but my character is not. However, if I save, exit to the main menu, then reload my save, my character (in proper werewolf form) is visible again. I just can't figure it out.
macomaco Posted April 8, 2014 Posted April 8, 2014 An information I take on a nexus forum : As far as I know, any Aela replacer mod has incompatibilities with her scripted vanilla werewolf transforms. In the story, she turns into a werewolf, roughly 3-4 times max. Right after these transforms, the game tries to load the default vanilla Aela, but due to the presence of such mods that affect Aela appearance, it can't. I've also read that to fully prevent invisible bugs, one should install any Aela replacer right after the companion's quests. I would recommend doing that. But if you want her to look this way right off the bat, then just re-install my mod, whenever she turns invisible. ---------------------------------------- Apparently, it's been noted by several other modders that this reference is due to the "Skin" variable attribute on the NPC's Trait tab in the Creation Kit. If the NPC's Skin trait is set to anything other than "NONE", then their werewolf forms will be invisible. I gave it a try myself and it seems to fix the invisible Aela werewolf glitch. Basically, open your Creation Kit, set this Aela Sylvan Makeover mod as the active file and open it up, then find the NPC entry for Aela and set her "Skin" variable in the drop-down box under the "Trait" tab to "NONE". I'm not sure what impact it would have on Aela's overall performance or appearance to change her "Skin" attribute from "Aelabodyarmor" to "NONE". I didn't see an issue per se yet, but I'll do more playing around with her and see if any issues creep up by setting her Skin trait to "NONE". Other than that, however, this method might fix your invisible Aela werewolf issues. EDIT: Okay, I did some more playing around. The drawback of doing this is that it seems to set Aela's body (not face) textures to the vanilla maps, meaning that her body scars will not appear. I'm guessing that if it's a facial modification for Aela, then it's all good, but if it involves custom Skin traits for the NPC body, then you're basically stuck with having to do one or the other. Guess you can't have it all.
