cuteankle Posted June 12 Posted June 12 Hello, I recently found out that there are adult mods for sims 3 and I wanted to try them, but at the beginning I had problems using this guide "https://www.loverslab.com/topic/36994-the-sims-3-complete-adult-guide/", I installed KW in the packages folder in my documents, but there is nothing in the game, even in the launcher there is nothing that the mod is enabled or working, what should I do?
Just Checking Posted June 13 Posted June 13 My first question is did you put the package files in that folder or did you put another folder in packages? I don't think sims 3 can use subfolders in packages the way sims 4 can in the mods folder, so make sure that what's in your packages folder is package files. Second, you should very quickly know if KW is working because a few seconds after you unpause the game it should start the KW activation process where it injects interactions into the game, which it should do each time you start playing with KW installed. I don't think there is any indication in the game's launcher that KW is installed, you don't see anything about that until you're in game. To that end, do you have any other mods installed and are THEY working? If they are and KW just isn't, then perhaps try a different version of KW, the original is at this point a bit outdated as other modders have taken up the challenge of continuing the good work. I've been using this one by Biterbit, it's pretty decent and links directly to some resources KW needs to work properly which might be nice to have.

It should be added that this is only the case, after you actually enabled KW. To that end, you simply click on your sim and select Kinkyworld from the radial, then settings, where you can actually enable the mod. It is disabled by default when starting a new game/save. If you do not have that option in the radial menu, then something is off with your setup and KW (and probably other mods, too) isn't properly installed. Edited June 13 by Aouregan
Aouregan Posted June 13 Posted June 13 (edited) Also make sure that you actually have the mod framework for Sims 3 installed. You can also set it up by hand, really. You should end up with the folders mods/overrides and mods/packages, as well as a resource.cfg file in your mods folder. The framework usually also comes with two mod packages already in it, which will let you verify immediately that everything works. It usually has the nointro.package included. Brisbane Australia Posted June 14 Posted June 14 Hello Yes I definitely agree with the posts above me. I don't install Kinky World very often but as far as I can remember getting KW to run is something along the lines of: Install the mod framework as Aouregan has pointed out Download and extract the Kinky World files to your Packages folder Download an animations pack and extract that to your packages folder too Run the game When the game has loaded and the household appears if Kinky World is installed right there will be a several second pause and a Sim loading thing appears that says Injecting Kinky Interactions, you cannot miss this because the game pauses itself while it's doing this and you have to wait for it to complete. If you don't see this click on a sim and see if there's a new menu option saying enable Kinky World or something along those lines. Some extra tips I discovered when I started out: There's a cheat to make the sims always have sex it's a setting called Always Accept (i think) I have it switched to On, if you don't it's unpredictable if Sims are going to have sex or not. You'll eventually want to download a penis and nude skins Animations packs is what contains more sex animations, some players here have heaps of animations in their game.

That cheat also only appears, if the KW mod is actually enabled and running. So they need to verify that first. The penis mods and such are a hard requirement for KW. You don't have them, the mod won't work as expected. I mean, I tried it, and it does work, but it looks literally like two Barbie dolls fucking. :)) But yes, there are better skin and penis mods out there, than the hard requirements, ofc. But you need to stack them a bit. Some skin that looks good with the penis and body mods required, for example, is Primer. (I'd personally recommend to use the non-default and add it as needed via Master Controller, as it tends to turn out on the rather light side. Also you do not need 200+ Sims running around with an HD skin in Bridgeport, if you only interact with like 50 of them). As for animations, there was recently a thread out there with all the links to those. But first, make sure that KW is actually running. If you start a game (like, be in game actually controlling a Sim, that is) and you do not have the pop up top right about the KW version, and you do not have a Kinkyworld option, after clicking on your Sim, that mod's not running. And, if you installed any other mod the same way, chances are that they are not running, either. Edited June 15 by Aouregan

And no... there won't be any feedback in the main menu or so about any of those mods. Only way to find out is in game. Don't use the launcher, please. Use TS3W.exe from your game folder instead. The launcher is shite that eats 1 GB of Ram for nothing in the background. It's utterly useless. All the installed content the launcher can show you is referred to as CC (Custom Content), not mods. Like custom texture remakes, clothing, worlds, houses and such. I really do not consider those mods, but that's up for debate. And also only, if they came as .sims3pack file, not a .package. And there are better ways to install CCs than that horrible, badly coded abomination. I mean... it is a LAUNCHER that eats 1 Gig of RAM. That's a no-brainer and has no right to exist. You can extract the .package from the .sims3pack file and just slap it where it needs to go. Simply use Delphy's Sims 3 Pack Multi-Extracter for that. Edited June 15 by Aouregan
cuteankle Posted June 16 Author Posted June 16 (edited) Thanks for your answers, but it's still unclear. In Sims 4, mods work immediately, and in the character editor, you can immediately undress the heroine or hero, but here there is no button for undressing. Yes, you can access the KW settings in-game, but why doesn't the mod work right away? I want to customize my character, but I can't do it. Is everything that much simpler in Sims 4 or am I doing something wrong? Edited June 16 by cuteankle
cuteankle Posted June 16 Author Posted June 16 So, I installed the mod correctly, I have the mod settings in the round menu, but there's no button to strip the character naked in the character editor. How can I even figure this out? What else do I need besides this mod to enable nudity in the editor? What do I need to do to make it work properly?

Is everything that much simpler in Sims 4 or am I doing something wrong? Do not think of Sims 4, when trying to deal with Sims 3 ever. This is a lot to take in... like nudity automatically works, when needed, if the mod is installed correctly. I recommend to double it up with NRAAS Master Controller Mod to get more granular control over outfits and such. But explaining you in full how to use both mods, would blow the limits of characters allowed on this forum, I am sure.
Aouregan Posted June 19 Posted June 19 (edited) It also depends on what you want to customize: Outfits or body. You need to have some body default replacers and such as mods for anything to look good (Otherwise you get the Barbie doll look as I mentioned earlier). If everything is set up right, in CAS you should have an extra clothing category at the bottom for nude. There you can edit the outfit. If you are in CAS and want to edit the body while naked, simply switch to the naked outfit in CAS, as if you wanted to edit it, then back to the looks section or whatever. But you will probably need some enhanced body slider mod for everything to look the way you want. The vanilla options are extremely basic. Edited June 19 by Aouregan

How can I even figure this out? What else do I need besides this mod to enable nudity in the editor? Unfortunately, writing a mod that changes the character editor (aka CAS) is apparently very difficult. And Kinky World only provides one specific aspect of adult mods. There is a partial mod that allows direct editing of nude sims, but it conflicts with lots of other stuff, and it was only ever (to my knowledge, at least) released as an optional add-on with the Passion mod, which conflicts with KW. You may be able to get just that bit to work with KW, and if you are interested in trying it, it is 'cmar_XCAS_core'. There are two versions within the Passion download archive, read the instructions for figuring out which one to use. Without a mod that specifically lets you edit nude sims, the way that you have to do it requires a combination of methods. Use a "nude outfit". For example, there exists nude tops and nude bottom outfits. These are basically the equivalent of saying "my sims has chosen nothing for their shirt and nothing for their pants". You can select the everyday category, then choose the nude top and nude bottom, and then edit your sim's body. When you are done, you can then choose real clothes for them, if you want. If you want to edit how your sim dresses when they are supposed to get nude (for example, when they take a bath or a shower), then you need a different approach. There a couple of reasons that you might need to edit this. Sometimes, something gets messed up, and your sim might start wearing a full outfit when they take a shower. Other reasons could be that you want them to have a specific hair style, or you want them to have a necklace, or you want them to have tan lines, etc. In game terms, there is a hidden nude category of outfit that is used when the sim showers, or skinny dips or streaks, etc. The cmar_XCAS mod mentioned about adds that category to CAS. Without that, normally the nude outfit is completely hidden in CAS. I use the NRaas Master Controller mod. This mod has a feature that allows you to take any sim, whether they are the active sim you are playing, or even an NPC sim, directly into the Stylist. This lets you edit all of the sim's outfits (for the normal categories), their hair, etc. Normally, you still can't access the nude outfit from here. But, if you have your sim get naked, and then use Master Controller to open up Stylist, it will only show the nude category, and you can edit their nude outfit styles. Every single article of clothing is available here, so you must have the nude outfits mentioned above for this to work. As a final note, normally, in order make a sim get nude, they have to be doing an activity that would cause that, such as taking a bath, streaking, etc. If you just want them to get naked without this, there are mods available that do that. There is a mod on https://sexysims.info/ called "get naked interaction" which adds "get naked" to the sim menu. It doesn't do much for game play, and depending on the sim and the situation, the sim might immediately get dressed again, but you can get them naked for long enough to use Stylist on them.
