Werewolf form became assymetrical/disproportionate after I used racemenu sliders from XP32 to alter my character

So I possibly made the mistake to install XP32 Maximum Skeleton Extended mid game in order to use its additional sliders to reshape my orc the way I would have liked to but couldn't with the SAM Lite sliders. However, despite making sure XP32 lost all conflicts to other skeleton mods (such as TWO Werewolf Overhaul), the werewolf skeleton got altered and is now assymetrical in the sense that its right leg is enormous in comparison to its left leg, the posture of the werewolf also seems to not match its size anymore. Disabling XP32 and running FNIS again did not change anything, my character kept the visual appearance it gained from the XP32 sliders and so did the werewolf form. Other werewolves in the world seem to be fine and use the TWO Werewolf Overhaul settings perfectly. Creating a brand new character did show something odd, the transformation into a werewolf clearly showed the model that got built through BodySlider and TWO Werewolf Overhaul, but upon completion it got overwritten into a standard low weight form with different, multiple overlapping textures (or perhaps two bodies?).

No measure of changing the order of mods, reinstalling mods or rebuilding the werewolf body in BodySlider seems to change the situation for the better, what else is odd is that the mod SexLabWerewolfReduxV's aggressive sex initiate button as a werewolf no longer works, there isn't even a message saying the target is invalid. Additionally, before the werewolf form broke upon installing XP32, the werewolf's genitals of my character often loaded quite late and got replaced or disappeared frequently, seemingly at random (alongside the sound of equipping or unequipping some gear). The newly created character's werewolf form (after things started to break) does correctly load the genitals immediately. Furthermore, LOOT no longer fully alters the priority order since I had to manually move some mods and plugins around.

Perhaps also interesting, ever since things started to break, the For Honor animations are often not detected in the game after having to use FNIS to load skeletons and animations. I have to use FNIS first and then Nemesis to fix those animations, this wasn't as big of an issue before.

I'm quite new'ish at modding and it's likely I might have missed something obvious but it's clear that I am either oblivious at this moment or it's something else that I have done wrong, either way I am at a loss and would appreciate any guidance that could be offered to me.

My game version is 1.5.97 se, I use both FNIS and Nemesis Unloaded Behavior Machine and the installed mods' load order is as followed:

Not surprising considering XP32 most likely doesn't contain anything that actually does any node scaling. That work is almost certainly offloaded to NiOverride. FNIS doesn't have anything to do with node scales.

  1. Revert back to normal form, and make a save if you don't already have one as a non-werewolf.
  2. Open RaceMenu.
  3. Save a preset of your character.
  4. Open the resulting jslot file in Notepad.
  5. Go through the transforms array and remove all entries that affect the problem areas. If in doubt, empty the entire array.
  6. Start the game again and load your non-werewolf save.
  7. Reapply your fixed jslot file to your character.
  8. Test again.

Example of empty transforms array:

   "transforms" : [],

By reverting back to normal form, do you mean being cured from being a werewolf altogether or simply reverting back to- in my case, an orc with the werewolf power?

I will take a look at the transform arrays but I am quite new at that as well, any additional tips on recognising transform array entries that affect problem areas?

And thank you for your help so far, I appreciate it!

Don't open RaceMenu when transformed into a werewolf.

Well, you're having leg problems, so assuming the leg nodes are named in a logical way you'd probably be looking for things like "leg", "thigh", "foot" and "calf"; "forehead" and "ballsack" probably do not apply. If the node names are not named like this then you'd have to open the werewolf mesh in NifSkope or Outfit Studio and see what they are.

Fully clearing the transforms array and applying the altered preset unto my character seems to have worked, the werewolf form is symmetrical again albeit perhaps a little bit less bulky overall. Thank you for helping me out on this problem!

If there is any further advice regarding the genitals being removed randomly and SexLabWerewolfReduxV's aggressive mate button not working then that would be lovely, however I understand it's not this topic's title so if there isn't then I'm already grateful for the main issue being resolved.

The dick disappearing is either an equipment or partition slot conflict, or there is some mod that actually removes it. When the dick is not visible:

  1. Open the console.
  2. prid 14 OR select the dickless werewolf.
  3. inv
  4. Check if the dick armor is in the inventory, and whether or not it is equipped.

If it's in the inventory and not equipped: Something unequipped it, or you have an equipment slot conflict.

If it's in the inventory and equipped: Partition slot conflict.

If it's not in the inventory: Something removed it.

As for the button not working, start from the Papyrus log.

An update: the earlier approach of clearing the transform array did reset the werewolf model, but it also altered my orc character's appearance while not transformed. I suspect that some showracemenu sliders, more precisely the ones from from XP32, seem to affect the skeleton of both my "human" character and my werewolf form, while sliders from SAM Lite do not seem to. I tested this by making some differences to my orc and transforming into a werewolf afterwards, the changes I made to the chest and shoulders were also visible on my werewolf. Interestingly, the leg being disproportionate also came back (I used the lower body to upper body proportion slider).

Is there a way make sure that the changes made in racemenu are exclusively for my "normal" form and do not affect the werewolf form?

My guess would be NiOverride applies node transforms based on their name. If you increase the scale of your feet nodes, then transform into a sheep that has a nose node named "NPC L Foot" then you'd probably get a large-nosed sheep. You can see this limitation in the API:

Function AddNodeTransformScale(ObjectReference akRef, bool firstPerson, bool isFemale, string nodeName, string key, float scale) native global

Key is a mod identifier. There is no mention of a skeleton nif path, or actor race filter.

Renaming mesh nodes is not practical.

Edit: Should again clarify that yes there's a way to make this per-race, but no NiOverride is not going to do it for you. Create a Papyrus script that removes node transforms when it detects a werewolf transformation, then restores them when appropriate. I do this with SexLab to remove NiOverride transforms.

Edit again: I'm fairly certain there's even an event sent out when transforming, so that bit should be simple.

I see, I am quite unexperienced when it comes to scripting or coding, do you know of a tutorial which is closest to what I want to achieve and how to implement it?

My personal approach to this is to find a mod that does something similar on the Nexus, download it and pick out the bits I need. Many of the changes I have in my "merged patch" mod is from various single-edit esp mods. Rather than finding which game setting or object it is I want to fix or change, it's much faster to download that 1kb esp and merge it.

Your biggest challenge is going to be to get Papyrus compiling. You'll most likely need to do the following:

  • Download the Creation Kit.
  • Find the script sources for all relevant mods. With a project like this you'd most likely only need the sources from RaceMenu and SKSE.
  • Normalize existing mods to use the same script source folder, then configure the CK to also use this if needed.

If you can get through that, you'll have a powerful new toy to play with in Skyrim. Sky is the limit.

Edit: The same in English: Find a mod that that claims to do something when transforming into or out of werewolf form. Make sure it's scripted in Papyrus, and not a dll. You're most likely looking for something based on this.

Edit again: OnLycanthropyStateChanged seems to deal with curing lycanthropy, so maybe that's not it.
