Quality animations and downgrade options ???

I wanted to 1, get opinions about quality animations, and 2, get a little advice on using a downgrader to get AAF working.

1. Billyy and Anubis make great animations for Skyrim. Whenever I see animations for FO4 they move weird by contrast. What are your favorite animations and mod authors?

2. I'm on Anniversary Edition. There are a few downgraders on the Nexus. I'd like to know which one worked for you and get any heads up for issues related to getting AAF up and running after downgrading. Thanks in advance.

2nd point. I used this one for downgrade to pre-ng (1.10.163) game. Works fine and I have NG content as well.

About first point. I have all Fallout 4 animation packs. Which are the best? I haven't think about that, but I can suggest this thread. Personally I like Leito animations, Rohzima, BP70, SavageCabbage.

sorry for the ignorant question but I've not played F4 in about 3 years. What has occurred that requires a downgrade for adult mods to work? I noticed the same thing seems to be required for Starfield as well. WTF has Beth gone and done now?!

Released two unnecessary updates, NG and AE, that break modding. AE is currently in "open beta" and is updated periodically. Therefore, it's not suitable for stable modding and requires downgrading.

But that's what happened whenever Bethesda, or any game company, for that matter, releases any significant update to a game. It breaks most mods. So what this is, is downgrading in the interim until mod creators make compatible versions of their mods? Or is there more too it this time? I know I've had my settings in Steam set to not allow auto updates since like the beginning of time, for this very reason. It always takes weeks, even months for modders to update their mods. I get the sense, however, that people are more upset about these latest updates. Is it because it came so many years after release? That's the bit I'd have a hard time understanding, like why the fuck? Also the more recent implementation of "Creations" has fully divided the communities of modders and mod users. Fun days.

I don't know... Maybe the main difference that many of the best mods are no longer reliably being updated because their creators have long since left the scene, and/or they require so much work (or insight) between the old and the new, that inexperienced modders cannot as simply just adopt and fix them (Which was fairly common practice for abandoned mods, before AE and NG)... So old mods that were considered final and working fine for several years, are now just dead, because Bethesda no longer has the good sense to leave 10 year old games alone.
