Both SexoutSex and SexoutSexLite work. I've tried both specifically because both ignore the orientation setting in SexoutNG (straight, gay, bi). Make sure you've installed SmallerTalk and its requirements.

 

What ARE the requirements for SmallerTalk? I can't find any on its page.

 

It SEEMS like every other mod, including SmallerTalk, works so long as SexOutSexLite isn't running. Hell, I've actually uninstalled every other mod, just to make sure, and sure enough, the only mods I have are the sexout mods and SexOutSexLite, which kills itself every time I speak to someone.

Alternative Start was added after finding out that sexout lite was glitched, to expedite creating a cleanish save after uninstalling TTW.
 
The game crashes as soon as I'm given dialogue options OR, if I use smallertalk to force a conversation, when the player is given the option to say 'goodbye'.

Smaller talk should only need the base game.

 

Did you test this on a new game? I wouldn't try to recover an old save after uninstalling TTW if that is what you are doing.

Yep, I tested it on a new game. Was why I installed the alternate start mod, so that I could skip straight to goodsprings immediately.

To be clear, so long as SexoutSex Lite isn't on, everything else works fine. I can get sexout animations working, I can force speak with random npcs, etc. The only time the game glitches out is when Sexout Sex Lite is installed.

 

(Also, in order to install Sexout Sex Lite, I had to put the esp file into a zip file, and then have my mod manager detect it, because it doesn't detect esps on their own for some reason.)

I don't use the lite version of SexoutSex personally but I do know that the full version (which requires SCR IIRC) works in my current load out with Sexout 98 Beta 2. I believe I had the lite version working with Sexout 97 at one time not sure on that.

 

The lite version of this mod might be outdated I do believe the dialogue options contain scripts to start the sex acts only reason I can see it crashing while access them.

 

I just loaded up this load out and checked it in FNVedit I don't see any conflicts with the other mods in sexoutlite so it may be scripting issue but I can't attest to that with any certainty. Other than Sexout Lite I suppose you could use Sexout Tryout. That's as much assistance I can give.

I had the same problem ("now is not a good time"). Turns out the JIP NVSE plugin breaks this mod - without JIP, the mod works, with JIP, it never works.

 

It needs to be updated for JIP, since Spunk and other mods require JIP to work.

that's too bad.  I am using JIP NVSE and it has been a help.

It isn't JIP NVSE breaking things need more SPECIAL points

Having precisely the same problem.  Have SexoutNG 97, SmallerTalk and this one.  Like enigma said, the dialogs are there, but the only response I get is "now is not the time"

The description of the mod says something about "no chance of failure" specifically so we can test the setup.  Why would there be a cutoff based on SPECIAL points?

Nope, definitely the JIP NVSE Plug-in.  Unloaded JIP and started a new game with exactly the same stats my previous character had, everything worked.  Added JIP, stopped working.  Simple as that.

EDIT: So it seems for some reason there was a parse error on line 110 of the old SexoutSex code, but also a bunch of missing/invalid references in the topic conditions for some greetings and threesome dialogues.

Removing the references for some reason didn't do the trick, but deleting the topics themselves did. I tested this with male on male, and female on male. Seems to work fine. I'm also using NVSE Extender 18, xNVSE 6.0.9 and the latest SexoutNG. Seems to work fine. Also have JIP NVSE too, which I think is unrelated. 

On my end, this FIXES the "Now is not the time" issue so many people have been reporting. 

 

Please test this and let me know if/how it works for you guys. Thanks!

This is likely due to a bad installation of Sexout. The red exclamation mark means you are missing meshes. 

 

At this point, SexoutSex has done what it's supposed to do, it's down to Sexout what determines what happens next, which leads me to believe as I said - it's not been installed properly. You are likely to get the same error with any other mod that starts sex using Sexout.
