CreationKit.exe Entry Point Not Found (Solved at least for now...)

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Today I got this error:

CreationKit.exeEntryPointNotFound.jpg.79715f196c64ccb44169153a69fe4ec9.jpg

I have Creation Kit LE, I opened it too. I didn't have such an error.

The error is says:

CreationKit.exe - Entry Point Not Found

The procedure entry point SteamUser could not be located in the dynamic link library

E:\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\CreationKit.exe.

If you can help me anyway, I'll really appreciate.

Thank you in advance.

Same issue as here. Maybe they still haven't fixed Steam integration. If so, another patch is sure to follow 1170.

I checked the topic.

It was confusing.

I know Bluegunk.

I just sent him a message and asked him how he solve the problem.

By the way,

What is 1170?

The new version/update of AE.

I don't want AE.

I use 1.5.97 SE version.

All of my settings are for it.

Installing Skyrim SE - 1.6.640.0 is the best way for now. If I'm not wrong.

Still, I couldn't get any answer...

If you're truly on 1.5.97 and still getting this error, my first guess would be that the CK was updated without you noticing. Restore the original files from a backup and things should be fine again.

1170 is for both SE/AE

unless you have something very specific and you knew exactly what you wanted 1.6.640.0 was always better alternative to 1.5.97

both 1130/1170 are for SE/AE, keep in mind 1170 still have some issues and is likely there will be a following patch Soon

Its becasue you have Skyrim version A and CK version B.

"Old" CK is standalone. "Old" would be "the one from old Bethesda.net".

"New" CK depends on "new" Skyrim. Something about Steam integration.

Its not about Steam, but "New" CK is hard linked with Skyrims library that connects Skyrim with Steam. And that library wants something from CK, that is not there.

So, you have problem with mismatched versions. Bethesda in its infinite wisdom decided that it will not only fuck up all mods, but also fuck up mod creation.

Solution:

- get newest Skyrim and CK. Probably a very bad idea

- get Skyrim whichever version you want, but get "Old" CK. If you don't have it, you are fucked up.

Anyone remember if there was a paywall on the old Bethesda.Net copy of the CK? I remember having to create an account, but that account wasn't linked to Steam I'm quite certain. As in, you could in theory download the CK impersonating Donald Duck (who presumably doesn't own a copy of Skyrim). Just wondering how smelly of a situation it would be to temporarily upload my archived copy on a non-LL server, should the OP need it.

Edit: I find it hard to believe Bethesda would give 2 shits about it, but on the other hand, I've seen more retarded things.

I solved the problem...

Reinstalling the Old Version 1.6.438.0 of Creation Kit and Skyrim SE 1.6.640.0

I got the files from Steam Depot.

Then, I used Creation Kit Downpatcher to downgrade to SE 1.5.97.0

I used BestOfBoth_1.6.640.0-1.5.97.0.exe

I installed:

SSE Engine Fixes, DLL Plugin Loader,

CK64Fixes Release 3.2-20061-3-2-1616560054

I made necessary settings on CreationKit.ini.

I installed again SKSE 2.00.20, which is for Skyrim SE 1.5.97.

No problem until now.

I'll continue to install other mods that are required.

Right now, I have Skyrim SE in LOOT.

My SkyrimSE.exe version is 1.5.97.0

My CreationKit.exe version is 1.5.73.0

Long way, but it worked...
