How to get MMMF working?

For starting MMF or MMMF, the interaction can fail because some of the males not having sufficient relationship with the others. If I turn off the "Joining Sex Relationship Compliance" option, I am able to add new M to the interaction one at a time by asking them to join.

 

However, it doesn't work when trying to start it off immediately with MMF or MMMF. Is there a trick to making this work?

 

Edit: Looks like "Ask to Join" doesn't always work either when the compliance option is disabled, so more broadly is there a way to make MMF/MMMF work reliably?

 

 

Edit2: Is there also a way to make the animations respect and stay on MMF? I sometimes see it transition from a MMF animation to a MFF animation, which is not what I want to see...
