Knight974 Posted December 8, 2023 Posted December 8, 2023 I found out I have a lot of duplicated aaf files thanks to your tool but how do I fix the duplication ?
Dlinny_Lag Posted December 8, 2023 Author Posted December 8, 2023 (edited) 3 hours ago, Knight974 said: how do I fix the duplication ? In most cases you don't need to fix them. AAF uses one of those "duplicates". Last one, based on the priority attribute defined in XML file. I decided to display duplications for 2 reasons: - Allow gamers to find a reason of confusion, when some animations works differently than expected. - Allow mod authors to find mistakes they did. As a gamer, you can safely ignore duplication when warning text does not contain text "And declarations are different in ..." An example, that safe to ignore: But you may get confused when duplication warning text contains text "And declarations are different in ..." Like that: You can fix this situation manually, by altering XML files. But you need to have a clear understanding of AAF XML files format and how AAF uses these files. There is no single "fix" available. There are many possible solutions... correct and incorrect ones %) Edited December 8, 2023 by Dlinny_Lag 1

This tool needs .NET Framework, not .NET (former .NET Core) - they are different products, even if names are similar. But anyway, if you are able to see app UI, then most likely you have all necessary dependencies installed. It seems that app crashes on attempt to read/analyze XML files, so this is the reason why I've requested XML files. I need to reproduce the issue on my side. You can zip and PM them to me, if you do not want to publish them. Edited January 11, 2024 by Dlinny_Lag

pleasetryme Posted January 13, 2024 Posted January 13, 2024 going great sir i just added a mod as an optional for another mod for savage that without your tool wouldnt have seen the issue but now i have removed and run tool fixed now

Most simple option - remove erroneous entries. But it might not meet the goals you want to achieve. 7 hours ago, pleasetryme said: 'value' is a duplicate attribute name. Line 95, position 24. This means that attribue value declared twice (at least). One of the declarations need to be deleted, but I don't know what declaration exactly. I need to know what was the initial intention to make a correct decision. If you can share XML portion around the error line then I would try to guess what might a best choice. But it is up to author of this XML file how to fix it properly. Edited January 13, 2024 by Dlinny_Lag

It's always a good thing to fix all potential crashes. For the bugs, you need to fix them yourself by editing the xmls.

I need to know what was the initial intention to make a correct decision. If you can share XML portion around the error line then I would try to guess what might a best choice. But it is up to author of this XML file how to fix it properly. The file under discussion originally contains this text: <morphSet id="VXStraponReady"> <!-- AAF_morphSetData.xml --> <condition isFemale="false"> <morph value="Erection" to="1"/> <morph value="morph" value="Erection Up" to="0.5"/> <morph value="morph" value="Up" to="0.5"/> <morph value="Erection Down" to="0"/> </condition> <condition isFemale="true"> <morph value="morph" value="Erection Up" to="0.5"/> <morph value="morph" value="Up" to="0.5"/> <morph value="NippleLength" to="0.25"/> <morph value="NipplePerk2" to="0.25"/> </condition> </morphSet> I'm not sure, but it seems to me that it should look like the following: <morphSet id="VXStraponReady"> <!-- AAF_morphSetData.xml --> <condition isFemale="false"> <morph value="Erection" to="1"/> <morph value="Erection Up" to="0.5"/> <morph value="Up" to="0.5"/> <morph value="Erection Down" to="0"/> </condition> <condition isFemale="true"> <morph value="Erection Up" to="0.5"/> <morph value="Up" to="0.5"/> <morph value="NippleLength" to="0.25"/> <morph value="NipplePerk2" to="0.25"/> </condition> </morphSet> At least that's what it looks like in similar cases in the same file. Typical carelessness when copy-pasting. And in general, this tool showed me how negligent modders are with their code. If such easily detectable bugs in simple .xml have been around for years(!!!!), what can be said about how shitty code is in, for example, scripts? I'm horrified. To the author, thank you so much for this wonderful tool. Edited March 15, 2024 by evp 1
