Hogwarts Legacy. Why is it taboo to mod this game? Immersion mods?

I just want an immersive mod that takes note of the time period. It feels so diverse that it is like walking around London today, this would be fine if it fitted with the period, for example a diverse Cyberpunk makes sense. However accents here are ridiculous, as well as the characters would make Benetton envious. Just a little immersion please... Even my wife thinks it is ridiculous, and no she is not white... ffs...

 

Any mods to reflect the period? Isn't that the point of modding to create a game that makes sense to you?

You have to look elsewhere for mods. The mod you want DOES exist. It's on the "Non-Newtonian" side of things though, so you won't find it on Nexus either. They delete anything they deem even remotely offensive, ever since the infamous Spider-man flag mod. You should be able to find it easily if you pay attention though =P

What does "non-newtonian" mean? I looked it up, and all I could find was something about fluids.

 I was curious, too, and find out what they "really mean".   It is very funny and nothing to do with Newton Physics.  Still do not understand the censorship in this case, it is a free-speech-issue at the level of changing the spider suit from red to pink. The censorship definition got arbitrarily stretched to cover that case. Still their house, their rules, and we should respect that.  Read the spoiler.

A modder who created a mod that removed Pride flags from the game apparently tried to fly under the radar by naming the mod “Non-Newtonian New York” on one site and claiming that it “replaces Newton’s Prism’s artifacts with the stars and stripes," Kotaku explains(Opens in a new window). In reality, the mod swapped Pride flags with the US flag.

LL is an adult modding porn website... How is it hard to understand that hosting anything related to Hogwart Legacy (who supposedly display kids and teens) on THIS website will mandatory backfire?

Also the game is incredibly popular, so any "wrong" mod could mean the end of LL.

And I could say like more 10 games with characters of the same age than those from Hogwarts Legacy. It's not about age, they are scared of the publisher of HL (Warner Bros.), because they won't allow such content. I can understand their decision... but there is no need of lies or false morality. Just say it's because of WB.

It's because the publisher doesnt want that kind of mods. Nexusmods said it, mods from this forum said it. If you love so much being treated like an idiot because a poor excuse, be my guest. But saying "child nudity is not allowed" when characters appareance on HL are even more adult than other games that are allowed here...

let get this straight, yes, it is indeed excuse, but it also safe move that every forum or community would take and will take. no one want they forum or community get destroyed in midst of all drama and controversies around it, it not worth it at all

Yeah, as i said before I understand and support their decision (I would do the same). Only thing I'm expecting in return is honesty, no lame excuses or false morality (because that leads to misunderstandings as we can see).

You'll never convince the moderation with this, the only thing this kind of post can achieve is getting more mods to be banned.

Please refrain from doing that, some games slips through the cracks, don't draw the attention on them. I agree with what you're saying, just don't give names.

You don't get it. It's not about convincing them. In fact, I DON'T want to convince them. I understand their situation. 

 

It's only about not telling a poor excuse, and just saying the truth about the situation. "WB doesn't want this. Period". That would be fine.

 

P.S: Do you really think they don't know about those games? Of course they know, only that the publishers of those games doesn't care about mods. If Capcom says next week they don't want any nude mods for Resident Evil 4 Remake and threat websites and forums if they host that content in any way, there would not be a single adult mod posted here. And that's all.

Not gonna lie. I think the people who want nude mods for this game are kinda cringe. 

 

I can excuse Japan being Japan with their anime/manga art style since it's different enough for regular people to look at hentai and tell that's it's just wierd cartoons. 

 

But Hogwarts Legacy is a game with realistic graphics about a magical school filled with realistic looking kids... Like regardless if your player character is an adult or not, you would still be running around naked in front of kids.

The OP asked about a mod adjusting skin color, I believe, and while I totally grant that there are valid reasons for it, the reaction that particular mod's gotten elsewhere in the game press is all the more reason to tread carefully, isn't it.
