skyrimcrap Posted July 23, 2022 Posted July 23, 2022 (edited) Hello, I've been setting up my AE install since getting a new computer a few months ago. With my previous install on LE, using NIFSkope, I was able to replace the texture of the Deer Skull Pauldron from Aesir Armor with the Deer Skull texture from TDN Headresses and it functioned correctly. For some reason, I can't get it to work with AE, despite changing where the texture exists. When I launch the game, the texture isn't missing, but it's using the vanilla deer skull texture. I've created a path in the Aesir Armor directory pointing to the deer skull texture as it doesn't exist in the mod normally. Any help with this issue would be appreciated. Spoiler I'm guessing the texture path may need to be changed in the Creation Kit - It wasn't necessary to do this with my LE setup. My other guess is "Data/" is missing from the texture path in NIFSkope. Pointing straight to the texture in the TDN Headdresses folder in MO doesn't seem to have done the trick (which worked previously for my LE install). TDN Headdresses can be found here: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/12959 Aesir Armor, which doesn't have an SE conversion, can be found here: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/35094/ This is what the folder structure for the texture path looks like: This is how it appears in NIFSkope (and what might be the issue?): EDIT: I removed "aesir armor" from the start of the path and that doesn't seem to have fixed it. I'm trying out some different things as looking at the mod in the CK hasn't gotten me anywhere. I'd try getting ahold of the author of the mod, but they seem to have disappeared, with their last posts being made sometime in 2020. This is how both pauldrons appear in-game with the vanilla texture, despite the texture path not pointing to it externally: This is the character wearing a headdress with the correct texture (from the TDN Headresses mod): Edit: I was able to fix it by replacing the original default Deer Skull textures in "...\textures\clutter\bones" - These textures are DeerSkull.dds and DeerSkull_n.dds, respectively. Done correctly, it looks like this: I'll leave the thread here for anyone that may come across this issue in the future. Edited July 23, 2022 by skyrimcrap Issue resolved; Solution provided.
