[mod fix] Harem Doctrines Fix

Hey everyone! I loved the Harem Doctrine mod by @NightlinerSGS for gameplay purposes. Sadly, it seems that the creator is inactive now. I downloaded the fix by @MalachXaviel and enjoyed it until Royal Court broke it down. Traditions can now override marriage doctrines, so the conde needed an update. I am new into modding, so it was difficult to fix the fix. Finally, the mod is ready and works fine, except for a small detail: whenever I click the real tab, the game crashes. I have no idea why. I tried to check the code and I don't know what I missed. I tried deactivating all my mods and the problem persists. Maybe someone with more experience can take a look? Anyway, if you don't mind not being able to increase your crown authority, here is the mod. Enjoy! ?

UPDATE! It works perfectly fine! The only problem is that it is not compatible with older saves. If you had a game with any of these doctrines, it will crash whenever you click the realm tab. You'll have to start a new game. Also, I tried to edit the "Offer concubine" interaction. I can't seem to fix it. If anyone knows how, let me know ??

Great work on this! I came back to this a short while ago and noticed this issue so I am grateful its been addressed so thank you very much!

 

Quick question about installation tho.. Does this replace the old doctrines mod or does it need to be placed under it? Normally I think mods updates and such require taking the old mod out but this one is called fix so Im a little confused.

I have no idea. I am new in modding. I deleted the previous fix, yet I kept the original Harem Doctrines mod.

 

Note: I realized that some people can't install it because it says that it's not compatible with the game, even tho I have no compatibility issues. I re-did the mod with the latest version:

I was looking at the latest post which I noticed later that was supposed to overwrite the first post instead of being used solo. But it still says the installation failed because the path described is wrong or doesn't exist..

I have no idea what could be wrong. I installed the original mod by @NightlinerSGS and then installed my version. It works for me. I don't know if someone else has the same issue

BIG UPDATE! I finally found a way to make the "Offer concubine" interaction available. It requires some deleting. I also updated the code because other doctrines were not recognized. More info, and the guide to activate the "Offer concubine" interaction, here:

But since you're basically the one running this mod now it would be cool if you can post a full version I think.

ANNOUNCEMENT: I updated the mod to the 1.7.1 version. A bit late, I had some university duties.

 

I would also like to announce that I'm planning on diving deeper into the harem system. I don't know if many players feel the same, because after some generations, the harem feels boring, and wives and concubines give borth non-stop. I am testing some new dynamics that would change the harem, including adding negative opinions among wives and concubines, new schemes, events, among other things. It will be a slow process since I have my university assignments and everytime Paradox releases a new patch, I have to check out the basic mod. Still, here is a screenshot of how the harem reacts when you add a new concubine:

 

 

 

I'll keep working to add some more flavor. It's still in early beta. Until then, have fun!

Well the original mod is disabled from my playset, so yes, my mod is a full version

I've uploaded a different Harem Doctrine Fix to Steam / Paradox , you can find it here: Paradox Mods (paradoxplaza.com). It takes care of the Offer Concubine interaction more broadly for all doctrines at once.   You're welcome to use it as a base for any future modifications you want to do.
