(Mod concept) Sex & Living: Rise of the civil war

Introduction:

This mod brings the ability to rise to power through the civil war. Create your own faction, army, council and Rise to the top to obtain the title of high king or queen of skyrim. Build invade and manage the holds you once were titled thane. Bring a new order to the lands of skyrim and destroy or align with the stormcloaks and/or the empire and welcome a new age into skyrim.

 

New features:

>Taxes:

Once you own a home in a hold you must register it as your residence by talking to the advisor in the city. Once informed you will be registered as a citizain of that city and would be expected to pay taxes. You will be taxed on your home, price increases as your home is upgraded, any horses you own, any other properties, such as hearthfire dlc homes. Once a week a tax collector or the advisor will go round the city to collect taxes from all citizains. You can pay up or refuse to pay which will result in a bounty being placed on your head or a guard instantly arresting you and taking you to the dungeon. If you are not in the city when tax day comes you will have 48 hours to go to the city and approach the advisor and pay your taxes otherwise a bounty equal to your debt will be set. If you cant afford it on the day you will also have 48 hours to pay. Straight up refusing will lead you to being arrested.

 

Beginning your rise in political power:

There are 3 different ways you can get your foot in the pool of political power within skyrim: Marrying a jarl, take over from a jarl or begin your own hold and build your own jarl legacy.

 

>Marrying a Jarl:

This is probably the easiest of the 3 options apart from it can be difficult. To begin the process of Marrying a jarl you will need to have a high standing with the jarl. All jarls now have an opinion on you 0 being nutral -100 being negative and 100 meaning admiring. You gain and lose opinion based on actions and interaction you have within the hold. Committing crimes and ending up in front of the jarls caught will first have a negative impact however combined with the justice system you may be able to pursade and talk to the jarl more increasing their opinion on you. Whereas aiding with bounty hunting, helping Civilians or being a good jarls maid (jobs) will increase their opinion. Jarls now have weekly open courts where Civilians go and ask questions and get the jarls opinion on situations and you can go and ask questions but also suooort the jarl. If someone is unhappy you can talk to them and either defend the jarls decision (increasing opinion) or attack the jarls decision (decreasing opinion but raising political power in the hold(discussed more in taking over)). Once your opinion reaches certain milestones you may be asked to visit the jarl where multiple things can happen: they may discuss political opinions with you, they may invite you round for dinner, they may offer you a position as thane (instead of doing thane quest) or attempt to have an affair with you which can lead to many different outcomes.

 

Affair with a jarl:

An affair scenario will begin disgusted as one of the other scenarios, such as dinner or a political meeting, but the jarl will ask if you would like to go somewhere more private to chat or catch up on your adventures. You can either accept and be led somewhere or refuse and end the affair scenario and instead convert back to the original scenario. If you accept to go somewhere private you can be lead anywhere within the jarls keep where the conversation will turn more personal and flirty. You can shut the jarl down or continue and begin flirting with them. If this carries on the jarl will lead you to a more private area if not already in jarls chambers where you will go and begin having an affair and sleep with the jarl if they have a spouse or not. If the jarl does have a spouse or other family you will need to avoid them while having an affair because if they see you in the jarls chamber you would be called a glorified slut and the guards might be called. This mod is best coupled with sex & Living family which enables pregnancies. Having an affair can result in a pregnancy occurring and now using this pregnancy can be an opportunity to gain power. By informing the jarl you are carrying their child the jarl can respond in different ways. They can be supportive and suggest getting married before people find out and have a legitimate baby, they can be secretive and offer you a constant payment of gold to move somewhere (hearthfire home or an abandoned cabin) and keep the baby a secret. The Jarl may visit the child and you in hiding but will also assign a personal guard (unique npc added by the mod that works like a housecarl) to ensure you stay at the location or have permission to leave and they will go with you everywhere and if you disobey or break the deal they have the right to restrain punish you and inform the jarl you have broke the deal. At which point the jarl can either forgive or punish by taking away your gold and taking your child to either live in the jarls Castle as an adopted child or be sent to the orphanage where you can attempt to get them back by either bribing adopting or sneaking them out. The Jarl will try and keep your child there to hurt you. Apart from being supportive or secretive the jarl can refuse the child and send you away calling you a liar and a whole or even have guards arrest you and send you to prison to endure punishment for trying to tell the father of your baby. The final outcome can be blackmail. You can attempt to expose the affair to the people of the city or even take it to the other holds and expose the jarl to the other jarls. From this the jarl will either call your blackmail a bluff and have you arrested or thrown out or they might accept the threat of the blackmail and ask for your demands. You can demand marriage and a good life resulting in you Marrying the title of jarl. You will have the powers of a jarl but can be overturned by the real jarl and if the jarl was to die you inherit the full title of jarl. This can be the beginning of your rise of power in an already established system. You can also demand a large sum of menu which you could invest in building your own legacy or demand to be titled thane.

 

>Taking over a jarl:

You can take over a jarl by Marrying them and having them die. However, people may become suspicious if you kill them or have them killed shortly after you marry the jarl. The city may become divided and someay not accept you as the new Jarl and may try to overthrow and accuse you of crimes and deception you may or may not have committed. If you decide to kill the jarl you will need to have a careful plan. Use your commonly used arrows and they might link the arrow, if left in the body, with your arrows, using an enchanted weapon that you use or have equipped or using a unique weapon like a warhammer or two handed axe that you use can all lead to suspicion on you killing the jarl. The best way to kill the jarl would be to use a weapon you have never used or get a new weapon that can be disposed of after you have done the deed. If these accusations have a heavy amount of evidence like a weapon or witnesses it could be hard to keep control as People will start to see through your lies and may result in you being arrested and stripped of the title of jarl but you can always use speech to try and talk your way out and shut down these accusations and either leave the accusers alone or attempt to silence them by sending them to the dungeon with a fair or unfair sentence.

 

Another way you can take the title of jarl is by challenging the jarl to a dual for the title. After becoming thane or having set up a strong political support (must be jarl of another city to begin political support) within the city you can challenge the jarl to a dual. The Jarl was ask what they will get in return for winning and you can offer them:

•Your political support - forcing you into an alignment with the jarl where you agree to always help them when needed

•Banish you from the city - You will be forced to leave and if you are caught within the city you will instantly be arrested and trialed

•Enslave you - Jarl has ownership of you meaning you are stripped down and put into restraints. You are expected to pleasure the jarl and their court and provide services such as cooking cleaning and fetching items. Sometimes the jarl will use you as an example and whip you in the Palace or in a public space like the market or have you restrained somewhere in public naked to be seen.

•Imprisonment - You give yourself to the justice system to determine your fate in losing the dual

•Execution - You offer the chance to take your life if you were to lose the dual. They are expected to kill you after defeating you but some may be cruel and arrest you so they can torture you with whips cutting sexual assault and other harsh tortures before executing you either in public or in the dungeon. You can attempt to escape if they are going to be this dishonest in a dual.

 

Jarls are very experienced in combat and won't be as easy as bandit to take down.

 

A final way of taking the jarl title is by invading the city.

 

>Invasion:

Probably the easiest and hardest way to take control of a city depending on your resources. If you have an army taking a city will be much easier than attempting to invade with just a few soliders or just yourself and a companion. Possible but very difficult. Invasions are only avaliable once you are already a jarl and have access to the war table and commander of your guards. To start an Invasion you must go to the war table (located inside the jarl Palace, for example the map table in the whiterun Palace) by activating the table options will come up such as trade and allegiance and also invade. By selecting invade you will pick the city to attack and select how many soliders you want to go with you. If you take so many soliders options such as pre invasion will become avaliable (if you have the right upgrades and equipment). Once you have planned out the invasion and the army is ready you can choose to either go on the front line or stay at the back. Going at the front will mean you will be attacking along side your guards staying at the back means you will be behind your guards at a safe distance and will go in after most of the fighting to take just the Palace and the jarl. To complete the invasion you must kill all the guards in the city and defeat the jarl in combat. The Jarl may be a coward and attempt to escape as you are battling through the city meaning you can take them out earlier meaning you just have to kill the guards and deal with the jarl council inside the Palace. Once inside the Palace the jarl may surrender ending the conflict early or they my prepare to dual. Accompanied by your army commander you can order your men to stand down and fight the honourable dual or cheat ordering your men to butcher the jarl and everyone else. Once the jarl is defeated and kneeling before you, you can choose their fate: kill them on the spot, trial by justice (see further down for justice and courts), public execution or enslave(see further down for slaves and prisoners).

 

>Owning a throne:

The beginning:

No matter what way you take to get to the position of sitting on a throne there will always be unrest with people questioning why you deserve to be in the position you are in and without a council to supoort you. You will need to hire and fill some positions quickly to keep things civil and under control. You will need to hire at least 1 adviser, 1 housecarl and 1 Court mage. The mage must be an actual mage for example from the college or a mage follower the others can be whoever you like. When it comes to advisors everyone will have a randomly generated opinion including opinion on every hold, a faction in the civil war or independence and their most choice in methods for example attempting to resolve things fairly or civilly or be brutal and merciless. These opinions will factor into the advise they will give you when making decisions. The housecarl can be anyone who you think you can trust your life with. They will always be by your side unless commanded otherwise.

 

>Taken over more than one city and traitors

When the time comes and you have invaded another city you can choice if you want to move your home to the new city or stay in your current home. When assigning a council in cities you won’t be in constantly is a big risk if you don’t have people that you can trust 100%. Just like before an advisor housecarl and court mage are all needed. However, you will have to inform the advisor you won’t always be here and as a result they are in charge with handling affairs in the city until further notice. You can also choice to have 1 of the 3 inform you of any changes or concerns when they advise. Your most loyal would be best picked as they may send word that someone is attempting to over throw you due to you being away. This can be any 3 of your council positions or even another group attempting to over throw you. Be careful who you pick a traitor and you may never know until you are being hauled to the dungeon just for stepping through the gates of your Once owned city.

 

Responsilities of a jarl:

Once you have become a jarl there are many responsibilities you will need to up hold to be a good jarl or at least maintain control.

 

>Assigning your title

You can give yourself a title that people will say after your name for example if your character was called Alice you could be referred to as Alice the great or Alice the strong. Some titles will only be avaliable after unlocking them.

The dragonborn - Discover you are the dragonborn

The slayer - Strike down a jarl or rival

The lustful- Have sex with 10 different people

The enslaver - imprison or enslave an enemy

The slaved - free yourself from slavery

The unprisoned - Escape from a prison

The invader of (city name) - Take control of a city by invading corresponding name

The ruler of (city name) - Take contol of a city by any means received responding name

Slayer of alduin - Defeat alduin

Slayer of the ebony - Defeat the ebony warrior

The empire - Side with the empire

The stormcloak - Side with the stormcloak

The independence - Dont pick a side

The peaceful - Rule a kingdom peaceful with no violence in use

The fair - Create a fair and just system that everyone approves

The execution - Send 5 people to execution

 

 

>Hold court

Every now and then a problem will arrise within the communities you rule over and it needs to be settled in court. Holding a court will allow these issue to be resolved by you the jarl. Depending how you handle the situations your reputation will change. For example being too forgiving might cause more crimes to happen because criminals know you are kind and they won’t be punished as bad as other places, being too harsh and punishing might mean people will fear you and are less likely to use your court services and travellers and caravans may try to avoid your settlements out of fear of being a victim to your harsh ruling. During these court session prisoners awaiting sentencing will be brought from the dungeon where you will hear out the prisoner and then decide what to do with them. Sentences and punishments are the same as law and Order.

 

>Approving laws and orders:

You can choose to change and add new laws or the advisor may recommend changing a specific law every now and then but it is completely up to you your word is law in the kingdom. Some people may respond positive while others may respond negatively to laws being changed. Laws that can be added and manipulated are the ones avaliable in law and Order.

 

>Setting bounties

Sometimes bandits might be a problem to your settlements and you may need to deal with them. You can either send your own men free of charge to hunt down the criminals or assign a bounty and wait for a bounty hunter to come. You can also request proof of kill as well by either bring their head or something indicating the bounty has been completed or you can just trust the word of whoever comes through your doors after your treasury.

 

> Managing the treasury

 

Every city has its own vault hidden within the palace. Before you are the Jarl you could attempt to break in and steal from the treasury which would impact multiple things including the number of guards around the hold, the armor they wear (low coin means cheaper armor such as leather and hide but larger treasuries could afford steal for special guards and captains), and taxes (Higher taxes when treasury is low). When you are the Jarl it is your job to ensure the treasury has enough gold to cover all costs for guard wages, army wages, equipment and services (such as blacksmiths making armour for you or tailor fitting new clothes). You can add to the treasury with your own coin or take coin out of the treasury for your own gain. Every 7 days the treasury will receive coin from the taxes paid by the citizains of your hold. Refusing to pay taxes may end people in your court and how you handle them may be an example to others who may think about not paying taxes. You can speak to the advisor to raise or lower the taxes affecting the flow of money you get each week. Lower taxes means happier people but less money and vise versa.

 

Work of the advisor:

 

>Handle your requests

You can request to have specific services come and serve you for example, you can request a blacksmith (and get to pick which one is requested who are under your ruling) to make you new armour or weapons, you can request a merchant or trader (get to pick out of the ones undr your rule) to trade and barter with, a prostitute to pleasure you in your quarters. A slave from the dungeon to either put in display inside the jarls Palace or taken to your quarters for you to use as a relief for either sex or torture and more services avaliable.

 

>Court advise

Sometimes a second opinion on a matter during court is needed. Asking your advisor will provide their opinion on a situation. For example a farmer caught a thief stealing from their stock but the their says they have no other way to survive without starving. You can ask your advisor for their opinion where they might say to punish the thief or let the their go without consequences but like before it all comes down to your choices and what kind of ruler you want to be.

 

>Handling affairs while you are gone

When you want to go out and explore the world someone needs to stay and keep things going while you are gone and that responsibility will be your advisor if you don’t have a spouse to do the job or you choose not to allow your spouse to take your power. The advisor will take care of court hearing and punishing criminals while you are away.

 

> Responsible for staff

You will need to hire staff in order to keep your palace running, for example, cooks, guards, etc. But sometimes the staff may not be greatful for their job and may slack off, not show for work, steal from your palace, attempt to overthrow you and more. It will be up to the advisor to ensure all employees are working as they should and if something was to go wrong they will report it to you to handle. You can fire them, imprison them, punish them with whipping or even execution if you are so heartless.

 

>Handling taxes

It is the responsibility of the advisor and tax collectors (can be hired by talking to the advisor.) It will take them a day to collect taxes meaning one day a week the advisor will be unavaliable to handle other service as they collect taxes if you dont hire a tax collector. You can also command the raising or lowering of taxes by speaking with the advisor.

 

Work of the Housecarl

 

> Protect the jarl

The main purpose of the housecarl is to protect and serve the Jarl and to ensure nothing happens to the jarl and the jarls family. You will make enemies becoming a jarl and without a doubt people will prefer to see you either in shackles or in the ground and it is up to the housecarl to do whatever it takes to ensure nothing happens to them.

 

>Take the fall for the Jarl

Sometimes the other Jarls wont approve of your work and may set a bounty on your head to have you arrested and sentenced in their dungeon. A jarl will be no good behind bars, instead you can send your housecarl to serve your punishment for you in return for having the bounty removed.

 

>Companion

They will also be a companion which will always follow your orders without question, that also includes killing someone innocent just becasue you said so, but sometimes people don’t want to do something and its up to you how you handle them.

 

>Failing at job

If you think the Housecarl is not doing a good enough job or refuses to follow an order you give, like murdering an innocent, you could punish them back at your palace. You could give them a warning, a spanking, a whipping, Fire them, prisonment or execution. Firing, imprisoning or executing your housecarl will leave you without a bodyguard so getting a new one would be advisable.

 

Work of the court mage

 

>Required to be a mage can’t be anyone

 

>Supply potions an spell books

The court mage will make potions that the jarl can take and use. You can select to make health, stamina, magika, poisons, etc or a mixture of all the different types.

 

>Healing

The mage is responsible for healing and curing the jarl from all kinds of threats from the common cold to vampire and werewolf diseases. The mage also provides healing when ordered they will cast healing on the jarl to bring them to full health.

 

>Training

The mage can also train the jarl in magic skills. This depends on the specialist of the mage.

 

Work of the army captain

 

>Builds army for the jarl

Ordered by the jarl the Captain will prepare troops to be sent out on patrols and be involved in invasions. The Jarl can decide what type of troops will be in the army. Each type will have different skills, cost different prices, have access to different gear etc.

>Master skills - Most expensive (50 gold per solider), access to all types of armor the others have plus steel plated armor and sharpened steel weapons. Have 80 - 100 in combat stats

>Trained knights and archers - Cost 35 gold per solider, access to all lower types of armor plus steel and iron armor and steel weapons combat skill vary between 40 - 60

>Civilians - Cost 15 gold per solider, access to civilian clothing and leather armor and iron weapons. Combat skill vary between 20 - 40

>Slaves - Free, access to naked, devious devices and bikini armors, iron and steel weapons, combat skill vary between 20 - 80. Can attempt to betray and turn again player and attempt to kill or flee from the battle.

All units can be trained for a sum of gold either from the player or out of the treasury to reach the max combat skill.

Archers get a higher skill bracket each upgrade as well as one handed for a dagger and get stronger bows and arrows each type.

 

>Manage guards

It is the responsibility of the Captain to ensure there are enough guards posted around the hold. At times of war between holds or high criminal activities and captain may request a larger sum of gold each week to hire and pay the wages of more guards to reduce the amount of dangers in the hold and how protected the settlements within the gold are if they were to be attacked.

 

>Protocols

The jarl can approach the captain and make changes to the protocols of the hold if an attack was to happen.

•If the hold is under attack Civilians should:

Take cover in their homes/Hide in homes or take shelter in jarl Palace/Flee the city and hide.

•If the city is under attack guards should:

Priorities protecting civilians/Priorities securing the Palace/Priorities eliminating the threat

•If the city is under attack the jarl should:

Be sheltered with family and court in the palace/Jarl and family sheltered in keep/ Jarl sheltered in keep/ Jarl allowed to fight alongside guards/Guards evacuate Jarl from palace/Guards evacuate jarl and family from palace/ Guards evacuate jarl and family and council from palace.

•If city is under attack:

Take no prisoners(least likely to lose soliders)/show mercy to the injuried and capture them(Neutral option)/ Capture as many prisoners as possible (Most likely to lose or get injuried soliders)

•If Jarl is captured by another hold:

Negotiate with gold for release/Negotiate with settlements (little towns such as riverwood) for release/ Negotiate with soliders for release/ Trade prisoners for release/ Trade jarls family or Housecarl for release/ invade hold and break jarl free.

 

Bard

 

>Plays music and sings in the main hall of the Palace

>Could have an affair with the Jarl

>Train the jarl in speechcraft

 

Trainers

By talking to the advisor you can hire different trainers to teach you and develop your skills with even some having tasks/mini games to complete to level up your skill.

 

>Swordplay

You can have the advisor hire a generic swords trainer who will only be able to teach you so much limiting your training. However, you can choose to hire specific characters as your trainer like members of the companions or silver hand. Swordplay lessons may take place in a court yard or training ground or in an open area just outside the city walls.

 

•Types of tasks swordsman may get you to do:

>Dual - They want to see how well you are handling a sword pick one handed or two handed and prepare to fight. By completing you will go up so many levels whereas winning will grant you bonus towards your skills.

>Dummy training - Train with the dummy. Listen to the instructor and perform the light or heavy attacks when instructed.

>Live training - Same as dummy training but with the instructor and includes blocking instructions as well.

>”Personal” defense - Sometimes the trainer may provide a rare lesson. A lesson in “how to survive after being defeated”. The trainer will explain that being raped is harsh and unforgiving but you need to stay sharp even with a cock forced inside you. They want to enact a situation where you have been defeated and being used to train you in keeping string during your most exposed moments. You can accept and have sex with the trainer, decline and say you need to be professional and have a normal lesson, end the session without paying the trainer, end the session and fire the trainer, end the session and arrest the trainer to be trialed in your court.

 

>Archer

You can have the advisor hire a generic archer to train you or hire a specific archers you have met to train you further than a generic trainer. Archery lessons will take place in open area outside of the city walls. Housecarl will usually be escorting the jarl or will be waiting to watch over the lesson if not assigned to the jarl.

 

•Tasks the archer trainer may get you to do:

>Short shooting - Shoot close to medium range targets

>Long range shooting - Shoot targets at long ranges

>Variety shooting - Shoot targets at different ranges

>Speed shooting - Shoot all the targets as quickly as you can. Fast you complete the bigger the bonus skill xp you will get.

>”Personal” defense - Sometimes the trainer may provide a rare lesson. A lesson in “how to survive after being defeated”. Obtaining high king or Queen:

Once all holds are under your control and the empire and stormcloacks are either dead or in shackles you can begin ascending to high ruler. By talking to one of your advisors you will be tasking with taking the climb to the gray beards where you will have a meeting with them followed by a ceremony declearing you the new high ruler of skyrim. The grey beards will offer you the jagged crown and offer you a royal bedroom and a throne fit for the high king and queen of skyrim. You can choose to move in within the greybeards and follow this new tradition or you can move in to Solitude and rule from Solitude or you can go your own way and set a new home for the high kings and queens of skyrim.

Cool, got a rough release date for this epic that would require about 4500 man hours to get into a semi-playable alpha state?

 

I hope you do this yourself, because asking someone else to donate their time to it is a non-starter.  There's resources enough to learn how.  Start with one of the simpler sub-module parts (like the archery bit) and build up from there until the solo-usable subsystems are built up.

 

I hope you make this, I truly do, but pitching this as a request is beyond absurd.

Hi thanks for your comment. I created this as a concept and ideas as I used to design games in college. I would be intrested in actually making it myself as I do have some knowledge of coding and creating stuff but not mods so I would have to start at the very basic and build it up. If you have some experience do you know of and could link resources where I could learn to start making mods because I would be intrested in converting my concepts and ideas into full mods.

I got my start with creating mods for Skyrim and Fallout 4 through YouTube Creation Kit tutorials.

 

There are video tutorials for just about anything you'd like to create. Even for things like Blender, GIMP,

NifSkope, etc.. I started there for the basics. You'd be surprised how much you can learn from a 20 minute video.

As @Trykz mentioned, you can get a lot from a video.  Darkfox127 has a large number of good videos that walk through various things, but what you are listing covers a huge range, so just start somewhere.  For the coding side, the creationkit site has most of what you would need.  If you already understand coding, papyrus shouldn't be too much of a challenge for you.  Just a note on the coding: try not to use it if you don't have to.  Something a lot of loverslab modders (myself included) do is attempt to manage things through scripts that could have been cleverly done through the game engine instead.  Its a bad habit to get into, so avoid it from the start and you'll be better off.
