Slow Loading & White Flashes Before SL Animations

Hey! Before Sexlab Animations begin, each stage can often take ages to load, and the screen might flash black or bright white in the process. This is especially common in exterior worldspaces. My XPMSSE skeleton is registered properly in FNIS, only being overwritten by Simple Dual Sheath's hand rotation fixes, and MNC/ABC. My total animation count only hits in the 500s. I have lots of running scripts for during sex such as apropos2 and Spectator Crowds Ultra, but disabling these either didn't help or helped marginally. For anybody who would like to see my load order, I can link it, but it is nearly 700 mods, most of which I can't imagine being relevant. Notably, my game never crashes, it will always complete the animation, but sometimes only after as long as 5+ minutes of loading. However, when it takes a very long time, changing animation several times could freeze my game.

Does anybody have any idea what might help? My only remaining hypotheses are that it's a VRAM issue or it has to do with overwrite locations, but I don't know how to read papyrus logs so idk. Anyways, thanks for any help you can provide!

Without further info just a guess.

Vram

Turns out you were right. With 6 gigs of VRAM I didn't think 2k textures would be an issue, and in the rest of my playtime it isn't, just for sexlab. The real question is why it reloads grass for every stage of animation loading.

EDIT: The problem is apparently especially known to be an issue with the grass mod I use, Tamrielic Grass. While the VRAM you have would normally be enough to run it fine, during sexlab animations grass is reloaded at least 3 times in short succession, (for some reason), Meanwhile, your gpu is thinking it can chillax because the game is paused to load, so it's just a clusterf**k. For tamrielic grasses at least, reducing textures or changing fade distance settings makes it look much much worse, but that could work for people using other mods. For tamrielic grasses, use No Grass In Objects Enable grasscache option, which will make it so that when it loads the grass, the game already has the grass cached in perfect form. It'll take up another several gigs of computer storage in your /Data folder, but them's the brakes for outdoors sexy times.
